The Kirkinner Singer performs at his local most nights. His voice with its velvet tone makes him one of the countries favourite singers. He is on par with the three tenors. Paverotti (the Italian guy who works at the local pizza parlour) once said that he had the most versatile voice that he has ever heard. He can raise his voice so high that when he is singing next to bagpipes, the pipes cannot be heard.

We spent 2 memorable days this summer out bird ringing with Geoff Sheppard, local bird ringer and secretary of the West Galloway SOC. Geoff has many Barn Owl nestboxes, most made and put up by himself around The Rhins of Galloway. By the end of this summer 2007 he will have ringed approx 200 Barn Owl chicks.
