She was rich, she was royal and she commanded an army of 500 men. She owned a tremendous amount of land and had many canoes. She fought beside King Phillip, taking many scalps. The Puritans refused to negotiate with her because she was a woman. She was beheaded and her body thrown in the Taunton River. This holocaust, and this brave leader are at the center of the opera, Queen of New England, starring Phoebe Songbundle and Ken Little Hawk.
