USHA, a girl in her late twenties, daughter of a respected Delhi family is introduced to MICKY, visiting from the United Kingdom. A year goes by, tired of waiting Usha takes a bold step and travels to London, only to find that the world she enters is emotionally & culturally utterly alien. She is too sedate to relate to the youth culture of London. Micky is leading a double life, has a long standing relationship with an English girl and is physically abusive to Usha. Usha's neighbour, Raji helps her to find a job. "It's better to experience the outside world rather than remain cooped up indoors" Raji has said. This is five-year-old Usha from Lyangling Nepal. At nine months of age, she was burned by a cooking fire. As a result Usha's foot was severely burned, leading to a disabling contracture that pulled her foot up to be virtually fused with her shin. The burn contracture prevented her from walking and growing normally. This video is of Usha after the surgery she received by Interplast doctors. For the first time since her accident, she is able to walk normally and look forward to a fully functional life.

Born on October 10, 1954 in Chennai, India, Bhanurekha Ganesan (later known simply as "Rekha") is the daughter of renowned Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan and the Telugu actress Pushpavalli. Her father enjoyed phenomenal success and Rekha was to follow in his footsteps. Rekha appeared as a child actor in the Telugu film Rangula Ratnam (1966). Rekha made her debut as heroine in the successful Kannada film Goadalli CID 999 with Dr. Rajkumar in 1969. Also, in 1969, she starred in her first Hindi film Anjana Safar (later retitled Do Shikari). She later claimed that she was tricked into a kissing scene with leading man Biswajit for the overseas market, and the kiss made it to the Asian edition of "Life" magazine. It was Nasir Hussain's second film as director. His first directorial venture was Tumsa Nahin Dekha (1957), which became a big hit and which gave star Shammi Kapoor a new image as a comedic, dancing hero. Husain and Kapoor reteamed here. Asha Parekh, a former child actress, made her film debut as a heroine. This was also the debut film of comedian Rajendranath (younger brother of Premnath.) This is also music composer Usha Khanna's first film. The film became a hit at the box office. Husain, Kapoor, and Parekh would reteam again for Teesri Manzil (1966), which also became a big hit. Husain would also cast Parekh as his leading lady in five other films. Shammi Kapoor had said that he had initially wanted Waheeda Rehman to play his leading lady in the film, but the producer had already signed Asha Parekh, and he encouraged her during filming.
