The scenes in this film are of the DaNang area in 1969. Most were taken from a military jeep and a 0-1 Birddog Army observation and forward air control aircraft belonging to the 1st platoon of the 21st Reconnaissance Airplane Company (RAC). Aerial and ground scenes were preceded by map orientation footage showing the northern provinces of South Vietnam (known as I Corps) and more detailed combat relief maps of the specific areas in and around DaNang depicted in the film. During this period of the war, DaNang had the highest concentration of military forces in Vietnam. Aerial footage of DaNang metro area shows many of the prominent features veterans from all branches of service will remember: the Marble Mountains, Marble Mountain Air Facility (MMAF) , the Tourane Peninsula, China Beach, Camp Tien Shau at the base of Monkey Mountain, downtown DaNang and the Song Han river, Freedom Hill, and the DaNang Main Air Facility. The images of military personnel were taken at MMAF. Footage shows the 212th Combat Aviation Battalion headquarters, BOQ area, and the flight operations building of the 1st Platoon 21st RAC (Black Aces). Later map orientation scenes in the film precede aerial footage taken south and west of DaNang in areas that at times were heavily infested with enemy forces. There are aerial scenes of major 1st Marine Division fire bases such as Hills 34, 37, 55, and 65. Significant operational areas in the footage include the Dodge City Area, Happy and Mortar valleys, Charlie Ridge, the Arizona Territory, the Gonoi Island complex, and the areas around Hoi An and Barrier Island on the coast.

Here is a clip of the 'Grand pas d'action' taken from the premiere of the Bolshoi Ballet's revival of Marius Petipa and Cesare Pugni's 1862 'ballet à grand spectacle' "The Pharaoh's Daughter", staged by Pierre Lacotte. The premiere of the revival featured the same cast that was later filmed for the commercially available DVD with Svetlana Zakharova as the Princess Aspicia. Filmed May 5, 2000 with Nina Ananiashvili as the Princess Aspicia. Grand pas d'action (chor. by Lacotte unless otherwise noted)- 6. Valse (chor. by Petipa, reconstructed from the notation. Lacotte added the supporting corps de ballet and the danseur's double tour en l'air at the end) 7. Variation de Ramzé (chor. by Petipa. This charming solo was shown to Lacotte by an old St. Petersburg dancer, though I am not sure whom. Lacotte added the four little blackamoors) 8. Variation d'Aspicia 9. Variation de Taor 10. Coda générale The 'Grand pas d'action' (referred to as the 'Grand defile suite' in the booklet that accompanies the commercially available DVD) is the only part of Lacotte's revival of "The Pharaoh's Daughter" to contain Marius Petipa's choreography. 3 of the dances were reconstructed from the choreographic notation of the 'Sergeyev Collection', which includes notation of Petipa's choreography for his final revival of "The Pharaoh's Daughter' from 1898 (the notations, however, were created a few years after). Pierre Lacotte missed out an an extremely historic opportunity by not staging as much of Petipa's choreography as possible, and his revival, admirable as it may be, is just not as wonderous as it could have been. Nevertheless, this rather behemoth 'Grand pas' is perhaps the best part of the entire ballet. ENJOY!
