Microsoft Train Simulator's Strasburg Railroad Part 2

Leaman Place to Cherry Hill (*I suggest you watch part 1 beforehand and read the description*) When departing Leaman Place use the same meathod from departing East Strasburg Station. Make sure your reverser is at full Forwards to get all the power to the wheels for the 1% grade. When pulling out use the F4 button to see the track monitor. Watch the projected speed and once it falls below your current speed or below 15mph increase the throttle to 50%. If this is insufficient raise the throttle to 75%. If your boiler pressure is rapidly falling make sure your cylender cocks are closed and increase throttle to 90%. I never use 100% throttle on hills because if I need more power it's there. Keep your projected speed over 20mph and continue up the hill. Don't panic if your speed doesn't increase much. Once you are over the bridge your speed should climb rapidly. Try not to exceed 30mph. Once you get up near Groff's Grove let off and roll up the hill letting gravity slow your train. When you stop your train make sure the back end of the train hangs over, NOT THE FRONT, if needed. This keeps the bypass track open. If you don't want thhe RR crossing going off while you wait allow your train to roll back a few feet and the gates will rise. This is where you can asses your time. You should arrive between the 24th-26th minute of the hour and depart the 26th-28th minute of the hour. When your ready to depart set your throttle to 20% before you release the brakes. Then release your brakes and you should gradually speed up to 5-10mph before the crossing if you stopped correctly. Check out Part 3's Description for Cherry Hill to East Strasburg Station.

Strasburg Railroad on Easter, Part 1

For this Easter, many circumstances came up that caused an event that hasn't happened on the Strasburg Railroad in many years. Because of the length of the Easter trains, Canadian National 0-6-0 7312 (also known as 31) and Canadian National 2-6-0 89 teamed up in a rare push-pull train movement. One of the engines could handle the train to Paradise, but to get the train back to Strasburg would be a little more tricky. Witness as 7312 and 89 team up to get the trains to Paradise. The real show is on the other video

Trip to the Strasburg Railroad

This is a video of what I did when I was on my vacation down at the Strasburg Railroad. I started off by going to the train museum and then it was over to the Red Caboose Motel where I stayed in the Pennsylvania caboose. The next day was a trip to my cousins wedding but I stood along the tracks that morning to watch Thomas and Engine 90 go past a few times. The last day was spent along the tracks and at the train yard where I got my new Bachmann Thomas and Well Wagon. It sure was a great trip that I will never forget. This video is dedicated to RustysFangirlForever because I know how much she likes the railroad and because she is a very close friend to me.
