Easter 2006 - Impassable my ass!

A video that Joi made after our Easter-tour 2006. Basicly we drove from Reykjavik over Sprengisandur (right across the inhabitable interior highlands of Iceland) to Myvatn, then to Kverkfjoll at Vatnajokull glacier, back to Myvatn, Akureyri and home to Reykjavik again. Cars and Crews: -Dark-red Toyota LandCruiser 60 on 38" tires (first tour after rebuild!): Einar, Baldur, Elli, Joi (also first tour!). -White Toyota LandCruiser 60 on 38" tires: Armann -White MMC Pajero on 38" tires: Jonatan -Grey Toyota LandCruiser 120 on 38" tires: Thorsten -Red Toyota Hilux on 38" tires: Oskar -Grey Toyota LanCruiser 80 on 38" tires: Svenni and Siggi. At about 4.40 into the video, we are bathing in a natural hot stream, in an ice-cave in Europe's largest glacier... top that!

Godafoss Waterfall Iceland part 1

The Goðafoss (Icelandic: waterfall of the gods or waterfall of the goði) is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in the Mývatn district of North-Central Iceland at the beginning of the Sprengisandur highland road. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters. In the year 999 or 1000 the Lawspeaker Þorgeirr Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. After his conversion it is said that upon returning from the Alþingi, Þorgeirr threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall. Þorgeirr's story is preserved in Ari Þorgilsson's Íslendingabók.
