The first field trip of the ECM 2005 class of Oxford University Centre for the Environment. The trip was in Slapton, Devon, UK where we resided in a field study centre in a Nature Reserve and learned about coastal erosion and land management issues in a British nature reserve.

The USA rehearsed for D-Day (operation Tiger) at a village call Slapton in England. While rehearsing (supposedly in secret), so much radio traffic was created, that the Germans launched a rapid E-boat attack and annihilated the US troops. The Americans took greater fatalities in practice than on actual D-Day itself (But sadly US casualties on D-Day itself were also heavy). I guess Americans don't see this listed in their history books and it was until recently one of Americas biggest ever cover ups. This shows how unlike the Japs, the Germans could not be given even an inch. God bless all who perished that day.

after a crazy quiz night in the raving village of slapton the evening was capped off with a dance off between CVD and Gordano... Gordano went first and to b fair the girls had put in alot of effort but the performance was pretty standard... then the CVD dance master himself stepped up and quite literally pulled 1 out of the bag... another victory 4 CVD!
