Gamut comparison, Eizo CG211 vs sRGB color space

A little video clip that compares the color gamut in 3-D LAB color space with the sRGB standard.

SRGB 9-7-08 Match CM 08-01

CM 08-01 "4 Bill Drill" I did pretty bad. This was a new load with mixed crimping and COL results, but on the 105' targets I only had one miss of twelve. Good enough. I need to work on left hand trigger control, because all my weak hand hits were high and left. Boris pointed out that my left trigger finger wasn't sitting correctly and he believed that I was jerking the trigger. Time for more practice. I ended up with approximately 15%.

SRGB 9-7-08 Match Stage 7

Bad ammo gets the best of me again. Normally I use a 1.135" COL. I must've been tired loading my ammo last night, because after the match I found some cartridges at 1.180" COL which explains the feeding problems I had. Some of the rounds stuck in the magazines from being too long, and resulted in some jams I had. When I load ammo, I place them in the box in groups of ten and label the boxes as I go along. Sure enough, the ammo I loaded towards the end of the run at 1am were much longer than the samples I pulled from the beginning of the night. Doh.

User agents may vary in the fidelity with which they represent these colors, but using sRGB provides an unambiguous and objectively measurable definition of what the color should be, which can be related to international standards (see [COLORIMETRY]). Conforming user agents may limit their color-displaying efforts to performing a gamma-correction on them. sRGB specifies a display gamma of 2.2 under specified viewing conditions. User agents should adjust the colors given in CSS such that, in combination with an output device's "natural" display gamma, an effective display gamma of 2.2

Gamut comparison, Eizo CG211 vs Adobe RGB color space

A comparison of the gamut of the Eizo CG211 high-end LCD display against the gamut of the standard Adobe RGB color space. (The Adobe RGB space is used in some professional cameras and scanners, as a broader-gamut alternative to the more common sRGB space used in consumer products. As you'll see here, you really need a purpose-built monitor to be able to see the full range of color that can be represented in Adobe RGB.)

REC #111 Cascading Style Sheets level 2 CSS2 Specification

http://www.w3.org/TR/1998/REC-CSS2-19980512 :is produced. See the section on gamma correction for further details. Note that only colors specified in CSS are affected; e.g., images are expected to carry their own color information. Values outside the device gamut should be clipped: the red, green, and blue values must be changed to fall within the range supported by the device. For a typical CRT monitor, whose device gamut is the same as sRGB, the threerules below are equivalent: Example(s): EM { color: rgb(255,0,0) } /* integer range 0 - 255 */ EM { color: rgb(300,0,0) } /* clipped to rgb(255,0,0) */ EM { color: rgb(255,-10,0) } /* clipped to rgb(255,0,0) */ EM { color: rgb(110%, 0%, 0%) } /* clipped to rgb(100%,0%,0%) */ Other devices, such as printers, have different gamuts to sRGB; some

Fashion Photography Lighting Techniques - Tutorial Preview

http://www.zeroplusplus.com/ Read the video review at http://www.studiolighting.net/thorsten-ott-video-review/ About the video tutorial "Fashion & Glamour Lighting Techniques Revisited" Duration is 90 minutes Download version is only $90.00 US 760 MB Download for video and printable lighting diagrams. Broadband Internet connection is required for download. The video will play the best on your computer with VLC Media Player or Divx Player. I suggest the free VLC Media Player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/as it works great on any operating system platform. Divx Player is also free at http://www.divx.com/divx/ We are not offering a DVD version at this time. In the event that you have a download issue, please contact us and we can make other arrangements for video delivery. This first video examines fashion and glamour lighting using just 1 or 2 light sources. We will examine each of the 12 lighting modifiers and how or when we might use them. We will discuss the 18 lighting diagrams and the 19 images created. Follow me as I comment on the lighting diagrams and watch a behind-the-scenes video of the 4 models photographed. This video spans what I have learned over the last 20 years of shooting and modifying the light quality of my studio flash units to a give a 3-dimensional and cinematic light quality. I use both traditional light modifiers and also several custom built modifiers. It is important to understand that lighting modifiers do not necessarily have to be expensive, they just have to work consistently under varying environments. I do not push brand names or endorse any specific company. In fact, I use a very inexpensive brand of mono-head flash units to create the images both in the video and for my commercial portfolio. The specific light modifiers discussed include the 22" Beauty Dish w/Grid, Modified 48" Octabox w/Grid, Strobe Head w/7" Grid, Strobe Head Bare-bulb, Strobe Head w/Reflector, 4 different versions of the V-Bank, and several flat panel variants. Each image in the video uses a different combination of the modifiers to demonstrate the degree of flexibility they can offer the photographer. As a commercial photographer, I prefer to have visual explanations, and that is the format for all the tutorials. Rather than focusing on technical aspects related to digital photography, this video is about LIGHTING. The inspiration for this video was to teach LIGHTING, not Photoshop or how to fix it later. Show me the lights, the modifiers, and toss in a few tips on when to use these lights. The images in the video are not retouched for lighting, just RAW conversions and the basic 30-second levels adjustments and simple skin cleaning. I felt it was necessary to touch on a few digital tech details, we all come from different skill levels. Monitor Calibration, White Balance, Color Spaces, and Light Meters may be new areas for some of us. This chapter is more about bringing us up to speed than a in depth discussion. Never the less, this a very important yet frequently over looked area. Topics include: 1) The Lighting Modifiers used and how to build your own inexpensively 2) White Balance - Using a gray card 3) Color Spaces - sRGB vs. Prophoto and 16 Bit 4) Monitor Calibration 5) What is a good exposure 6) How to use a light meter 7) My lens suggestions 8) Alien Skin Filters and Plugins used for the images Production Planning 1) Planning the Day for Success - your crew and team 2) Utilizing Assistants 3) Directing Models

Kitt & Moosya - In the morning @ FazZ Filmz - May 2008

Mobile movie clips are becoming extremely common, however until it's feasibly possible to manufacture a decent lens and CCD chip without doubling the cost of the mobile phone, the quality will continue to be crap. I took some very dark footage that originally could not be seen clearly and some over-bright clips indoors that had little colour and tried my best to clean up and make the footage more excitable for viewing. It took about 5 versions to get to where it is now, but confident to now except really bad footage and make something of it. The technical. Original: Sony P1i Mobile phone using the highest video mode at 320x240 compressed with Mpeg codec. Final: Upscaled to 720x576, PAL, 25fps and passed through several image and colour filters to get the final result. Compressed to Advance Profile 9.2 WMV with additional OST taken from RE: Extinction, compressed to 192Kbps 48Khz in 2.0Ch. Colour profile: sRGB 6500k FazZ / FazZ Filmz © 2008 / fazzfilmz.co.uk
