This is the first part of a video I made of a trip to part of the Tibetan Plateau in Qinghai Province, China. The whole video is an hour long, and this section includes the opening titles and Wulingshan before we flew to Xining. It's mostly birds, other wildlife and views. If viewers like this clip, then I'll upload the rest in parts.

This sees the trip arriving in Qinghai, initially in the area around Koko Nor, the huge lake near Xining. We visited the Chaka desert and the Dulan mountains before heading south. Species in this clip are Mongolian lark, Pere Davids/Small snowfinch, Henderson's/Mongolian ground jay, Beautiful rosefinch, White-throated redstart, juvenile Przevalski's/Ala Shan redshart, Tibetan/Long-billed calandra Lark, Robin accentor, White-browed/Stoliczka's tit-warbler, Twite, Tibetan snowfinch and Eastern great/Streaked rosefinch.

This clip sees our arrival in the Tibetan Plateau proper, with it's vast grassy plains, wetlands and high ridges. Species in this clip are Black-lipped pika, Rufous-necked snowfinch, Stoliczka's mountain vole, Eurasian snowfinch, Lammergeier, Robrovski's/Tibetan rosefinch (female then male), Gundestadt's/white-winged redstart, Alpine weasel, Horned lark and Tibetan fox.

This clip includes footage around the Yushu area and the journey down to Nanqian Forest. Species covered are White-throated dipper, a distant Lynx, Brandt's mountain finch, Red-breasted/fronted rosefinch (female then male), Brown accentor, Himalayan griffon vulture, Koslov's/Tibetan bunting, Plain mountain finch, Marmot, Tibetan blue sheep, Tibetan partridge and White-eared pheasant.

This clip is all taken in the forested area near Nanqian. Species included are Crimson-browed finch, Three-toed woodpecker, Common buzzard, Grey-backed shrike, Godlewski's rock bunting, Svertzov's/Chinese grouse, Black woodpecker, White-browed rosefinch, Koslov's/Tibetan babax, Lemon-rumped warbler, Pink-rumped rosefinch, Rufous-vented tit, Glover's pika, Red-flanked bluetail and Grey-crested tit.

This clip starts west of Nanqian, through the Kandashan Pass to the Mekong River. Species included are Hill pigeon, Ibisbill, Himalayan griffons, Koslov's/Tibetan bunting, Beautiful rosefinch, White-browed tit, Wooly hare, Tickell's leaf warbler, White-browed/Stoliczka's tit-warbler, Common rosefinch, Hodgeson's redstart, White-eared pheasant, Kessler's thrush, White-winged grosbeak, Glover's pika, Szechenyi's Monal/Buff-throated partridge and Hume's groundpecker.

This clips starts at the Er La Pass, as we climbed the huge flat-topped ridge in search of Tibetan sandgrouse, tragically to no avail. We then headed north back to Koko Nor Lake. Species included are a female Robrovski's/Tibetan rosefinch, Himalayan griffon, Lammergier, Tibetan blue sheep, Brandt's mountain finch, Eurasian snowfinch, Pika, Horned lark and Hume's groundpecker.
