This is a sneak peek of sorts for Sleep Soldier Films' debut feature, The Reservist. The film was written by Christopher Shank and the sneak peek stars Zach Rice as a soldier who is forced to come to terms with his own mortality, hopes, and fears before his own deployment to Iraq. The story is loosely based on the life of Shank's brother Jeremy, a Corporal who was killed in the line of duty in Balad, Iraq on September 6th, 2006. St Pete Beach, FL - At the last City Commission meeting before the upcoming Nov 7 election, a uniformed member of the Armed Services challenged the US Constitution's 1st Amendment Right to petition the government and compared the American Citizens exercising that right to that of the Taliban. The misguided Reservist seems unaware of his paradoxical position as the Citizens Group he refers to has been fighting both City Hall and Big Money Developers for their right to vote on redevelopment issues. After being sued by their own city for such petitioning, the Citizens Group (Citizens For Responsible Growth) won at the 2nd District Court of Appeals to have 6 of the 7 Citizen Initiatives appear on the upcoming ballot. A Yes vote win for the Citizens would have ramifications state and nationwide for Home Rule democracy and clearly be a David vs. Goliath story.
