Roomy enough for...15?
15 Colby College students in Professor Herb Wilson's Winter Ecology course headed north to Flagstaff Lake in Maine for the culmination of their Jan Plan program. They all built snow huts (Quinzhees), and all but one student spent the night in the huts. Two slept comfortably -- the one in the lodge and the one whose cave was small enough to stay warm with body heat. Here's video from one hut that was too big. (And, no, there's not a secret back door.) |
