Pollock painting (1950)

It will work better using a SMALL SCREEN FORMAT. A fragment (going on a loop) of the film of Jackson Pollock painting - shot by Hans Namuth (1950) and released as "Jackson Pollock 51" (1951). Pollock In Action

see also http://pollock.extrapixel.ch Installation "Pollock In Action" took place during the Kunsthausnacht at January 27th, 2007 in the Kunsthaus Zürich (http://www.kunsthaus.ch). "Pollock In Action" is an Action-Painting simulator. Based on Stamen's Pollock sourcecode I built a physical interface to virtually paint like Pollock. The actual color was replaced by light. The brush is made from wood. Inside it: Accelerometer, Arduino-mini, EasyRadio RF-Module, RGB-LEDs. The accelerometer data is transmitted to the computer over serial (over air). The computer sends back the color information for the RGB-LEDs. The color is changed by pointing the brush into the paint buckets. Jackson Pollock (1912 - 1956)

Jackson Pollock (January 28, 1912 - August 11, 1956). "On the floor I am more at ease, I feel nearer, more a part of the painting, since this way I can walk around in it, work from the four sides and be literally in the painting." Jackson Pollock, 1947.

The Best of The Pollock and Pollock Gossip Show #2

website: http://www.pollockgossip.com/ contact: gossipshow@gmail.com The Pollock & Pollock Gossip Show, which began in 1985, was arguably the most controversial, most watched and most discussed of the Videon shows. After this unclassifiable program was abruptly cancelled in 1989, reports of its strangeness grew and grew, eventually taking on legendary proportions. Basically, "Rockin' Ronnie" Pollock would spin tunes while his sister "Nifty Natalie" would indulge in what might possibly be described as interpretive dance. "Anyone can come and join us," Ronnie announced during one show promo, and he wasn't kidding. Along with stray guests the Pollocks picked up on the street or at the mall, this shambolic program might feature Liberace song stylings from a tone-deaf cross-dresser, a dance routine from a shuffling, half-nude elderly man, or an appearance by two giggly, tongue-tied, high-school girls.

mechanized pollock mural

during the last week of my freshman year at the university of the arts in philadelphia, i was granted permission to paint my third mural in the furness hall dorm building. i built a pneumatic spud gun style air canon that would shoot paint (or anything else that would fit into the barrel) onto a canvas as a part of my 3d class' "mechanized jackson pollock" project, where any mechanical apparatus could be used to make some sort of mark on some sort of surface. it turned out to be really fun and looked pretty interesting. i made a huge mess of paint all over the place, but no one seemed to mind.
