Recall of Braun Normal Saline Flush Syringes
B. Braun Medical, Inc., is recalling over a million normal saline flush syringes because they may contain particles of medical grade silicone. Introducing these particles into the bloodstream could cause phlebitis and organ damage, and possibly pulmonary embolism. The risk is cumulative, and would increase with each additional exposure. The recall affects normal saline 3 mL in 12 mL syringes, product code 513584, and normal saline 10mL in 12mL syringes, product code 513587. The lot numbers of the recalled syringes end in "SFR." These syringes are used in both healthcare facilities and in caring for patients at home. Anyone with the recalled syringes should immediately discontinue using them and seek medical attention if they've experienced symptoms that may be related to the product. To arrange for replacement syringes, contact B. Braun at 800-227-2862. Antiphospho.....what?!
This video was produced by the APS Foundation of America, Inc. The APSFA can be located at http://www.apsfa.org. APS is associated with recurrent clotting events (thrombosis) including premature stroke, repeated miscarriages, phlebitis, venous thrombosis (clot in the vein) and pulmonary thromboembolism (blockage of an artery found in the lung due to a clot that has traveled from a vein). It is also associated with low platelet or blood elements that prevent bleeding. Recently, however, even more disease states have been linked with APL including premature heart attack, migraine headaches, various cardiac valvular abnormalities, skin lesions, abnormal movement/chorea, diseases that mimic multiple sclerosis, vascular diseases of the eye that can lead to visual loss and blindness. The APS Foundation of America, Inc. is the only United States nonprofit health agency dedicated to bringing national awareness to Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APS), the major cause of multiple miscarriages, thrombosis, young strokes and heart attacks. We are a volunteer run, community based 501(c)3 non-profit Public Charity organization and is dedicated to fostering and facilitating joint efforts in the areas of education, support, public awareness, research and patient services. Their URL is http://www.apsfa.org The APS Friends and Support Forum at http://www.apsforum.com . This is an open forum for people who have Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome, friends, family, and caregivers. There are many ways you can help the APS Foundation of America, Inc. Real Richard Nixon: PAT (6) - Watergate & Resignation
-Clip 6- The Real Richard Nixon Vol. 2: "Pat" Interview with Frank Gannon In this interview/documentary segment, President Richard Nixon discusses the Watergate scandal, his summit in the Soviet Union during the Watergate scandal (with a phlebitis stricken leg), and his resignation from the presidency of the United States. He especially focuses on how his wife Pat Nixon responded and acted during these difficult events. The video clip comes from 38 hours of interviews that Nixon did with Frank Gannon in 1983 during eight days of interviews spread out over several months. Gannon used to work for Nixon and was well acquainted with the former president. Subsequently, Nixon is more at ease and open here than in most of his recorded interviews. Originally there here had been no clear intention to create a documentary on Pat Nixon when the interviews took place. The segments on Pat came from different days, originally interspersed among a variety of topics. |

Vericos Vains
http://www.deluxecomfort.com/leg-wedge-pillow-order.html About 50 to 55 percent of women of all ages in the United States suffer from varicose veins. This is generally an inherited condition that is more frequent in women then men. Varicose veins are swollen blue, green or purple veins that protrude mostly in the skin of legs. You can identify among the signals an itching, throbbing or burning feeling, which get acute at night after a hard day of work, especially if you have walked a lot or been standing up for long hours. This condition worsens during pregnancy due to the ongoing growth of the uterus, which presses the inferior vena cava, which is a large vein located on the right side of the body. This increases the pressure in the leg veins, making them to work against gravity. Varicose veins is an uncomfortable condition of poor leg circulation, but harmless from a medical perspective. However, if it is left untreated, the feeling of discomfort and other physical complications may come up as leg ulcers, phlebitis, varicose vein injury (vein chronic inflammation) and rupture of veins. An easy way to prevent the formation of varicose veins is by purchasing a Wedge Pillow. By using this product to elevate your legs when sitting or lying down it helps to reduce swelling and pain. Also, sleeping on your left side with a foot held up by a wedge pillow is recommended because since the vena cava is on the right side it helps you take pressure off the vein which will relieve the pressure on your legs and feet. Log onto out website or call to order the Wedge Pillow and see how it can help prevent and alleviate pain from Vericos Vains. |

Hungary-the country of spas
Hippocrates, father of medicine, was the first to proclaim: Nature is the physician of our diseases. In fact, Mother Nature has been especially bountiful towards Hungary: the country sits on one of the richest geothermal and medicinal water resources anywhere in the world. The local culture of bathing goes back two thousand years; excavated remains of bath houses, frescoes and mosaics demonstrate that the Romans discovered and exploited these thermal water resources. Of the approximately 1300 thermal springs currently registered, nearly 300 are used for bathing purposes and no fewer than one in every ten, which means about 130 mineral and medicinal water springs, are located in the capital, Budapest! What is the difference between mineral and medicinal water? Medicinal water is a kind of mineral water with medically proven therapeutic, healing effects. Most medicinal waters in Hungary are effective in the treatment of locomotor disorders, but there are some which are particularly efficacious in the treatment of gynaecological and dermatological disorders, and - as part of a drinking cure- renal and metabolic conditions as well as stomach complaints. Due to the powerful effects of medicinal (thermo-mineral) waters, there are some so-called general contradictions, in the presence of which medicinal water treatment is not advised. These contradictions are general, applying alike to all medicinal baths. So medicinal bath treatments are not recommended if you suffer from any of the following conditions: pyretic conditions (fever), tuberculosis, hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure not responsive to medication, chronic high blood pressure, acute phlebitis, anaemia, post-myocardial infarction condition (for 6 months following the heart attack), infectious diseases, heart and circulatory disorders, epilepsy, mental illness, incapacity, incontinence and malignant tumours. Medicinal water is also contra-indicated during pregnancy. Experienced doctors and fully trained assistants oversee the treatment of guests attending medicinal baths and staying in sanatoriums, spa and wellness hotels. Before prescribing personalised courses of treatment and special cure packages, doctors carry out a general health check. Cave cures are recommended for those with respiratory problems. The therapeutic effect derives from the crystal-clear air and relatively high humidity to be found in many caves. Jósvafő Cave is located in Aggtelek National Park and is listed as a World Heritage site. The mofette (a vent in the earths crust) in northern Hungary is a truly unusual feature in the field of medical science. This so-called dry bath employs naturally occurring carbon dioxide of volcanic origin and is recommended for the treatment of heart conditions and circulatory disorders, blood pressure irregularities, dermatological complaints, after-care and recreation. Around the world, ever more people are coming to realise that a healthy lifestyle has an enormous role to play in disease prevention and the creation of general sense of well- being. There is an equal understanding of the fact that natural methods of treatment are able to promote healing without side effects. All these factors make Hungary -thanks to its natural conditions, developed infrastructure and hospitable people- the ideal location for you! Choose from our varied and broad selection, revitalise your body and enjoy yourself! Choose Hungary for health! www.hungary.com |
