7 Ages: Act 06 - The Pantaloon

Created for the Theatre Royal Bath/the egg Shakespeare Unplugged Festival, 2008. Our brief was to create a silent short film for each of the seven ages of man from the 'All the world's a stage...' speech in 'As You Like It'. Each film had to appeal to it's featured age group, and work as both a silent film (to be shown in shop windows around Bath during the festival) and with audio for a showing at our local independent cinema, the Little Theatre Cinema, Bath. This one was written and directed by Andrew Smaje, Associate Director of the Theatre Royal Bath. For the showings, it featured music by Garbage and other commercial artists, so it is totally silent here. If you have any tracks you own the copyright to, that you think might work with this film, get in touch! See this film in higher quality at http://supermegaactionplus.com

He is a very sweet boy who loves to sing and eat millet. He is very gentle and never bites. His favorite musicians are Elton John, Elvis, Bing Crosby and the Bee Gees. He also enjoys Christmas music, especially "Jingle Bells" and "White Christmas".

William Shakespeare "Seven ages of man & "Hamlet's Advice"

Heres a virtual movie of the great William Shakespeare reading his "Seven ages of man" and "Hamlet's Advice to the Players" All the world's a stage is the phrase that begins a famous soliloquy from William Shakespeare's As You Like It, spoken by the melancholy Jaques. The speech compares the world to a stage and life to a play, and catalogues the seven stages of a man's life, sometimes referred to as the seven ages of man: infant, school-boy, lover, soldier, justice, pantaloon, and second childhood, "sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything". It is one of Shakespeare's most frequently-quoted passages The excellent recital is by Harry E. Humphrey and comes from an Edison wax cylinder recording [ca. 1919] Kind Regards Jim Clark All rights are reserved on this video recording copyright Jim Clark 2008 Seven ages of man......... "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms; And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to school. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard, Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lin'd, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on side; His youthful hose, well sav'd, a world too wide For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish treble, pipes And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all, That ends this strange eventful history, Is second childishness and mere oblivion; Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything." — Jaques (Act II, Scene VII, lines 139-166)

A random guy called Jared

A random guy called Jared who does an arabesque, lies in the fetal position, plays a man with a moostache, who also plays the hero and the maiden, on the train tracks while the train comes, then runs into somebody's garage who we don't know, does a 360* and is a pantaloon who goes into the road and trips at the end.
