David 'Tory Tornado' Vs Charles 'Pink Pounder' Jones

WITH his outspoken views on immigration, gypsies, political correctness and everything else under the sun, there is no shortage of people who would like to punch Tory MP David Davies in the face. In fact, there are a few senior members of the Welsh Conservatives who would like to give him a walloping. But on Friday night, in a gym in London, one man had the chance to do just that: Britain's only openly gay boxer, Charles Jones. Yet after three rounds it was the MP who was celebrating after being awarded victory over Jones -- who dubs himself 'The Pink Pounder' -- on points. The unlikely scrap was organised after Davies, who also works as a Special Constable when not representing Monmouth, took up boxing. He was challenged to a bout by Jones, who describes himself as "a boxer who happens to be gay and doesn't give a toss who knows it". Davies, 38, said: "The challenge was laid down and who am I to say no?" Deciding against using the moniker rival MPs have given him -- Top Cat, because he uses his middle initials TC in Parliament -- he opted for 'The Tory Tornado'. He then stepped into the ring for the fight over three rounds at London's Cityboxer gym. At the end of 3 bruising rounds he just triumphed over his 48-year-old opponent. "I think I had the first round, the second was a draw and in the third they were almost going to stop it," boasted Davies. "I definitely had the better of him. To be fair, he's a lot more experienced than me." Davies, who claims to run a mile in five and a half minutes, is yet to decide who his next opponent is going to be. "To be honest, it's a bit of a hobby," he said. "I'm not boasting or anything but I'm very, very fit for my age. I go running or go the gym every day, or go boxing." And, being serious for a moment, he is adamant that he is not homophobic, despite resigning from the Assembly's Equal Opportunities Committee after a minister told him his gay issue comments were offensive. "It's wrong because I've stood up for them against Muslim extremists," he said. "I just don't like political correctness." What with Davies' antics in the boxing ring and Montgomeryshire MP Lembit Opik's gallavanting on the showbiz circuit, there is no doubt Welsh MPs are having an impact at Westminster. Just in slightly different ways to usual.( Copyright ICWales.icnetwork. Thanks for letting me nick/borrow some of your text..;) See the Whole fight at.......... CITYBOXER.COM

Roland Microcube RX Video Review

I had just got this wee amp, and enjoyed it so much within the hour I was playing a song as a review. Sounds fine with an El Cheapo guitar and without reading the manual. I know it doesn't sound like a real Twin Reverb, but the guitar and amp (and integral FX, tuner & drum machine) all came in at under £150. The amp can also run off batteries, so I intend to play it down the garden, or to amp an iPod.

Powys Castle ~ The Gardens

Most of the great Welsh castles were allowed to decay when the medieval wars ended, but Powys survives as a captivating example of a military stronghold which was preserved and renewed by continual occupation. Its fabric contains architecture of many different periods, beginning with a medieval square keep and stone hall. The most fleeting glimpse of Powys' mellow red gritstone walls tells us that this stately country house is a place rich in history. The Gardens surround Powys are world renouned.

Once Upon a Time in Mid Wales

Mysterious Hollywood Style letters appear above a small town in Wales, UK. A mysterious Hollywood style sign has appeared on the hillside behind Machynlleth, Wales. The sign appeared on the morning of Saturday the 22nd of October 2005 and surprised local residents and visitors alike. The 12 meter long sign was made by a group of friends from Machynlleth who kept it a complete secret during its construction and erection. Their identities were revealed at the Machynlleth film festival on the evening of the same day, where a heart warming and entertaining film documenting the construction of the letters was shown. The short film won 'Best Film' at the Pink Snowball awards, Machynlleth's first film festival.
