Included in the Goldspring Theory is a model depicting blocks of historic mineralization dislocated by many tens of feet by vertical slip faults. The abrupt endings of ores in faces of country rock beguiled the 1800s Comstock miners, causing them to give up mining a claim. Today, we can now see that the historic precious mineral mineralization, lodes and veins probably continue in geological blocks that are many feet deeper having been dislocated eons ago along vertical shear planes. The strategy of preliminary exploratory drilling is yielding data of geology in 5 foot layers that has been digitized and assembled into a computer based Graphic Information System. The underground mapping of rock compositions and Au-Ag mineralization is a great tool to create a Master Plan of Mining, systematic and most efficient, greatly contrasting to the 1800s trial and error mining - "luck". Data from many drill holes continues to support the subterranean concept model formulated by Goldspring Inc. Reasonably accurate prediction of Mineralization of many recent holes was known in advance of a core drilling due to the recently developed Goldspring Exploration Model (GEM). GEM will be used by TechBase-Mike Norrad to create a virtual Mining Model, an important component of a comprehensive National Instrument 43-101 regulatory filing. Prior to the reports, the raw core drill assay data is processed by computational power running through five different algorithms. Further computer analysis correlates where different algorithms yield similar results for the same block of subterra. Analysis of Aerial Data; Air Voids Halt Exploratory Drilling
Aerial Photometric Data to determine geology and mineral deposits? Scott, recently hired Goldspring Inc. geologist: Free aerial photometry has been used prior to paying for an aerial survey. Surface rocks from Comstock to Reno are bleached white by weather alteration. In a similar way geologists play Sherlock Holmes investigating for clues of subterranean geology alterations by mineralization. Comparisons are used to detect differentiations. Comstock satellite surveys have been studied independently by other researchers in prior years; synopsis can be found with a Google search. Satellite data: LandSAT, larger scale therefore less refined, has been used by Scott for preliminary study of the Comstock District as a colliery to observed surface conditions. Alteration of surface geology can give clues of the history of mineralization in a zone. Prior to hypothesis, analysis requires the differentiation of data between alteration by environmental systems such as rain, ground water, wind, solar energy, atmospheric chemicals and local vegetation including decomposition by microbial activity. Where a Reverse Circulation Drill enters a subterranean zone with loose gravel, pressure pumping in through the Reverse Circulation drill head dissipates into the voids, hence no pressure to move rock chips to the surface via the tube of the drill. Reverse Circulation Drill has a cylinder within a cylinder. Between the outer and inner cylinder, the annular space, pressure is pushed down to the drill bit with either air or water. The drill bit circulates and pounds the ore with a reciprocating action breaking rock into chips. The relatively lower pressure in the inner pipe draw the chips and the positive pressure at the bit push the chips to the surface where they are put in 3 sacks for every 5 foot depth interval: 1. third party assayer. 2. assayed by Goldspring. 3. un-processed in the archives of Goldspring. Geologists in the on-site laboratory of Goldspring study the ore chips. These help them 'connect the dots' of a 3-D jigsaw as they formulate estimations of mineralized zones including estimations of where dislocated veins where moved by seismic slip faults & pre-historic volcanic churnings. The 3-D Computer Model Comstock Lode being developed by Goldspring you will see ore bodies displaced by many tens of feet. The historic miners often followed rich gold and silver veins only to find them abruptly end. They did not understand the ore body was moved many feet away, and did not know where. Historic miners did not have deep core drilling technology and most sciences were in primitive development by pioneers during the second half of the 1800s. So concepts such as fault displacement of geological blocks where not understood during the time of the Silver Kings who apparently found large undisclosed lodes, "a plum". However many of the 100 mining companies followed veins that came to abrupt end with no clue as to where the vein went! So they gave up mining a drift. Those are the branches in the Comstock tunnels that go no further - dead ends. Before seismic and volcanic forces relocated subterranean blocks, hot liquid minerals - precious metals mixed with silicon dioxide (liquid quartz) and other chemical compounds where pushed from the Earth's magma in fissure veins and could subdivide into branches of varying sizes as gargantuan pressures pushed the hidden treasures of the Earth toward the surface. The structure of magma upwelling could resemble a tree with many branchlets and twigs at the surface. The current studies of the Comstock by Goldspring Inc. may determine if the historic lodes mined 1860-1890 where only easy to pick fruit at the end of the branches - "ripe plums, easy to pick, near the surface" - historic Silver King MacKay. Dwight Juras, world renowned fissure vein explorer, is one of the geologists that study the rock chips in the trays. They "speak to him." He "reads them" the way an automobile mechanic reads an engine looking for a fault. For instance a certain mineral indicates a tendency or clue that may indicate another geologic activity that may be a tell-tail leading to mineralization, investigation by inference and reverse engineering - one dot in the picture. Tracing opals to their source location. Opals occur most commonly around basalt deposits, though they can be a mineralized gel replacement for wood (petrified wood is one process, opal is another). To look for opal: go to the basalt (lava) areas (use a USGS mineral map), then look for depressions (old springs) or flat areas on hillsides where you see the ground pictured in the film. Opals have a specific gravity lighter than sand so pieces (float opal) will come to the surface. Start looking for pieces (the tops will be sun-baked white). If you are finding obsidian (volcanic glass) walk up to a lower temp. mineralization and look for opal. Opal can be black opal, white opal, red (fire) opal, clear opal, or solid opal, and precious opal can be found right along with common opal. Precious opal can (in some cases) be found with ultraviolet light. Some opal can be up to 20% water, and be subject to cracking and crazing if not dried over a period of years. What I personally like about the hillside prospecting method shown is the opal has been thoroughly dried out over the eons and is ready to cut into jewelry from day one. How much opal was recovered in this film? Pounds. Get out there and find yourself some opals -- and defend the 1872 mining law -- it is the only piece of paper that gives the average citizen the right to be on public property, whether prospecting or riding a bicycle. Beware of those trying to change or take it away in the name of "protecting" the land -- they are only taking away your freedoms. |

Knowing Both Sides of a Fault
Q: What is done if a drilling is stopped short? Scott, Goldspring Inc. geologist: A: Drill a hole nearby to give a similar answer. Find out what is on the other side of a fault or fracture by relocating the drill rig. Possibly drill from another angle to avoid loosing drill steel. It is important to explore what is on the other side of a fault or fracture. The computer methodically walks through each step, running maybe day and night writing results into cells and modifying it with each refinement from each adjacent sibling block, then the 2nd shell cousin blocks. Then the sequence repeats for each algorithm stream. Each algorithm procedure writes results to its own 3-D array of cells. In the end the results of each algorithm array are amalgamated into another composite 3-D array. In this way a person can look at the results of each algorithm stream and the composite looking for clues. In addition the results of one or more mathematical concepts can be combined into another 3-D array. Also in that process an original data array can be weighted more than another array, yielding who knows what; so 3-D color renderings help intuition perceive items never thought of before and explore with further research. Such further research can lead to ordering in-fill core drilling in certain areas. Further exploration can yield not only data about mineralization, but also were is the boundary of a seismic shear face - the boundaries of an ore body, a geologic block slip faulted deeper or shallower from a known lode or vein. The 3-D subterranean model displayed by Scott, Goldspring Inc. geologist rotated 360 degrees and then our viewpoint revolved to lower depths to be under the Comstock Mining District. A student intern has been digitizing the 750-850 miles of historic tunnels and surface topography. The exploratory data was in different colors. Historic geology was in another color, etc - the power of GIS. That is seen in this sequence of many video clips from the Afternoon QnA. All this done within six months or less in the year of 2008, starting probably sometime after a substantial amount of drill hole assays in April to September. A press release circa November 2007 stated that Mike Norrad was retained as a consultant along with geologist Dwight Juras, so maybe preliminary programming began in December 2007 after the conclusion of favorable litigation concluded in November. All the above described the calculation to determine the one (1) block at the core of a cube. Now imagine the same series of procedures for each block! The computer calculates each step of an algorithm in milliseconds. But there are billions or trillions of calculations! It does all the above times the total number of blocks and will then take all that numeric data and convert it into pictures for quick comprehension! Each block is evaluated in this way. As one block is further refined it further refines values in adjacent blocks. Imagine each block's 'radiance' passes through several box-shells concentrically. The change of a block reverberates back to other blocks. Each reverb requires recalculation (an iteration), a fine-tuning until recalculation has little improvement. Remember the ripples reverb to radiate outward to several shells. Welcome to Peachtree Rock Heritage Preserve, located in Lexington County, SC. Conservationists know that the Longleaf Pine Forests of the Southern U.S. consist of much more than just its trees. They are complete ecosystems of plants, animals and natural processes including fire, rain and soil mineralization. Estimates show that over the last century, longleaf pine ecosystems have dwindled to less than 3 percent. Once thought to be inexhaustible, these forests were exploited for their lumber and turpentine products. Today, restoring these habitats to pre-settlement conditions is the goal of The Nature Conservancy, along with state and federal agencies. [Interview 1 - Colette Degarady, Conservation Ecologist, The Nature Conservancy] We're trying to manage for that healthy Longleaf Pine natural community dynamics by reducing some of the Turkey Oaks, which compete for the nutrients for Longleaf and then we're going to also help bring some of the new plants into the understory by revitalizing the seedbank. Globally rare, the Rayner's blueberry is found on sandstone outcroppings dominated by longleaf pine. Peachtree Rock Heritage Preserve is one of only 3 known places in SC where this low seed-producing blueberry grows.
