Best Millwright in my opinion!

Steven Baker of Minneapolis, MN is a US Air Force Veteran and a member of the International United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC), Millwright Local Union 548 for 18 years. On October 5, 2001 he was Injured in an industrial accident that damaged his dominant arm (right arm) from the elbow to the shoulder. After multiple surgeries and attempts to return to his job, on December 2, 2007 the Claim Appeals Committee of the Twin City Carpenters Pension Plan denied his appeal for a Total and Permanent Disability Benefit. The denial letter is signed by Richard J. Lemke, Administrator, representing Wilson-McShane Corporation. Steven Baker would like to share this information with his Union brothers. The Union officials do not provide a forum for this to be discussed.

This video is a FOX 9 KMSP Tom Lyden investigative report which aired on 2/13/2008. Steven Baker is a Union 548 millwright from Minneapolis who was injured at work nearly 6 1/2 years ago on 10/5/2001. The 1974 ERISA Act (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) in effect is putting disabled American workers at risk when they and their families are most vulnerable. The "fund administrators" are holding $75K (now worth at least $150K) contributed by Steven Baker's employers over his nearly 30 year career and are releasing just $42K retroactive only to 1/1/2006. Of this, Steven Baker is expected to pay $8K lawyers' fees and sign a letter of "release" even though he was correct in insisting that he is totally and permanently disabled according to "the Plan". Steven Eischen, the Regional Director of the Department of Labor and Douglas J. McCarron, General President of the International United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America UBC should be front and center to protect workers and their families from this kind of white collar deceit! Please contact them and ask them to make this right for Steven Baker.

Beat poet Chad Dupree asks you to vote and eat some doritos in a song. Chad Dupree spent his formative years in the lumber town of Monticello, Washington in the Pacific Northwest. His father, Del, a millwright by day, played organ on the weekends at the local Elks Club. His mother, Dottie, was a homemaker, but kept busy with her barbershop quartet "The Sweet Inspirations." After appearing in numerous grade school talent shows, Chad shifted gears in high school by forming the Mint Valley Ramblers, a folk rock group that played at local events. By college, the Ramblers had evolved into The Coming Generation. Their first single "The Dawn of Love," caught the ear of folk promoter, Albert Gross, the manager of a group called The New Young American Teens. One of the teens got drafted and Chad was recruited. While performing at the Auto Show in Portland, Oregon, in 1965, the teens were tapped to appear on the Auto Show Talent Round Up, a compilation LP featuring up and coming groups. Their song, "Up With Corvairs" got them a TV appearance on Uncle Nate's Amateur Hour, a local showcase for new talent. Within weeks, they were signed to Timber Records in Seattle, Washington. After a few years on the college circuit, Darren, Chad and Nena were formed from the ashes of the New Young American Teens. Their first single, "A Reason For the Rain", thrust them into the local spotlight. As the sixties fade and folk music lost its relevance, Chad set off on a solo career. Once again, time was on his side. The Me Decade was crying out for introspective songs and poetry. His first solo record, "Home Movies" along with his first book of poems, Chad's Haiku Harvest struck a chord, but it was the release of The Seagull Man, a few years later that made him the darling of the NW morning TV show circuit. Thirty years later his book signings and personal appearances continue to attract a faithful following of "Chad Heads." Which brings us to Chad's latest mission: The teens of the New Millennium need a voice, a pied piper. Chad's new rallying cry is "Don't Gamble With Your Freedom- Make your vote count!"

This is our first upload on youtube after getting a digi camera. We visited a dye mill near Amsterdam. There used to be a thousand in this area but only 13 survive. This mill processed wood and ore into paint and fabric dye. Hope you enjoy it!
