Mechanical Engineering Technology

www.tstc.edu MET graduates have an array of responsibilities, often playing vital roles in the design, development, testing and manufacturing of machinery, mechanical parts and other equipment. Graduates design products, create prototypes, test materials and program computers for Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines and operations. Graduates hold job titles such as mechanical engineering technician, engineering technician, CAD/CAM technician or materials research and development technician. Machining Program... A specialization of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Texas State Technical College. The skills today's machinists must have— and the salaries they earn for those skills—might surprise you. Today's machinist must know precision machine tools and techniques for using them, computer-aided manufacturing, geometric design and computer numerical control programming, for starters. With those skills, today's machinists can earn entry-level salaries of $25,000-$28,000 per year, and look ahead at highly skilled tool and die makers' salaries—in the $85,000 per year range. Texas State Technical College 's Machining program has a proven track record for helping students acquire the skills to manufacture world class ultra-precision machined components ... the skills needed in the manufacturing sector to fill thousands of high-paying, secure positions. The Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Texas State Technical College Waco offers hundreds of opportunities to obtain practical, marketable skills with real applications in industry—from the details of creating your toothbrush to the machining of your vehicle's transmission. The MET curriculum covers manufacturing processes and materials, engineering mechanics, and machine and tool design. MET graduates learn to design, develop and build working prototypes of new products using the latest tools and techniques. The courses offer intense, real-world applications in Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing, referred to as CAD/CAM in industry, and instruction in state-of-the-art computer applications on some of the College's most powerful computer systems. Through a unique partnership with HAAS Automation, MET has established a regional training facility that enhances the learning experience. In this facility, you can learn Computer Numerical Controlled programming and operations.

Circuit bent mechanical Furby sequencer linked to Korg SQ-10

One of a new batch of four Furby Gurdies. This model allows you to program your own rhythms by rearranging screws inserted into the four wheels. There is also a 'trigger out' socket, which has been used in the last section of the video to operate an old sequencer and synthesiser. More details here: nervoussquirrel.com/circuitbent27.html

Mechanical Atom-Smacker

Brad's first attempt to subvert the limits of the known universe. Over a period of use, the device has been utilized for the continuous abuse of countless atomic structures. However, to date, no discernible affect on our own temporal-spacial domain has been observed. Unit is approx. 8" x 4" x 4"high, made of acrylic, brass and steel. copyright ©2007 Bradley N. Mechanical Climber

This video, allows to observe like the electrical energy tranforma in mechanics, being given rise itself to a tumbling. To this is transformed it into a linear movement by means of a very simple system of levies that I have made with small wood discs. We observed that when arriving at superior from the system the potential energy it is Maxima for the ball. From already one becomes kinetic, it hits there against the ball that is in the guide and it gives the energy to him sufficient to raise by the curved guide, giving rise to a new cycle.

Circuit bent mechanical furby sequencer - The Furby Gurdy!
