Best example of earthquake-induced liquefaction
Best example of earthquake-induced liquefaction. This video was "accidentally" taken during Niigata earthquake in 1964. The occurence of liquefaction clearly be seen from the video. |

Liquefaction of thixotropic sediments in Kentucky
Thixotropic sediments are stable until they are disturbed; then they behave like fluids. Sediments with these properties are widespread in western Kentucky along the Ohio River Valley. This is reason for concern because the Wabash Valley Seismic Zone lies immediately to the west of this region. |

液状化-Liquefaction phenomena
Liquefaction can be triggering by earthquake shaking or wave actions. When liquefaction occurs, the strength of the soil decreases and, the ability of a soil deposit to support foundations for structures is reduced as seen in the demo video. |

Barack Obama and Coal Liquefaction
Hi. I'm Alex from Madison, Connecticut. Senator Obama, you voted to support a fisher-tropsch coal liquefaction plant, but you also have made statements about how we need to fight global warming. Please reconcile these two opposing views, and why you supported the dirty process of coal liquefaction, instead of other, cleaner alternatives, like biodiesel, fuel efficiency, or just continuing to burn regular diesel fuel. Thanks. |

Sand Liquefaction Video
Hello, This is the simple liquefaction demonstration equipment. I made a liquefaction shaking table. The motor used is 1800 rpm. The sand box size is 25*30*25 (w*l*h)cm. I use fine sand, particle size is around 0.1-0.5 mm. The sand is saturated. The water level is at the top of the sand. Liquefaction only occurs in loose sand so I loose it before shaking. When I start to shake it, the building model will sink into the sand. The differnt type of foundation is no differrent in the result. I use shallow foundation and pile foundation, both sink into the sand. This is my researh at Civil Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. |

RPI Induced Liquefaction Model 3
This video is a simulation of liquefaction as caused by earthquakes. Liquefaction occurs when the ground shakes and soil particles float in water and are not in direct contact with one another, making the ground behave like a liquid. It was created in NEES@RPI by P.V. Kallou, L. Gonzales, T. Abdoun, M. Zeghal, and R. Dobry. For more information and to find the original simulation visit: http://nees.rpi.edu/article.php3?id_article=41 |

This video is a visualization of the effect of lateral spreading on deep foundations due to liquefaction. It shows the lateral spreading of the soil and the behavior of the pile. Liquefaction occurs when the ground shakes and soil particles float in water and are not in direct contact with one another, making the ground behave like a liquid. It was created in NEES@RPI by P.V. Kallou, T. Abdoun, M. Zeghal, C. Oskay, R. Dobry. For more information or to find the original simulation, visit: http://nees.rpi.edu/article.php3?id_article=26 |

Unforgotten - Halo 2
When I first started to learn this song only a handful of videos of it existed. It seems a bit overdone now. Nevertheless, this is "my" version of Unforgottten. Recorded using my RM's camera, it pays tribute to meesterSTEPH's version somewhat, with my own little changes here and there. Yes I really did play this, yes I know the camera angle is bad because you can't see my left hand. Maybe I will re-upload later. Thanks everyone. |
