The 1st public transport system of its kind in Southeast Asia, the jeepneys, electric-powered versions of the Philippine icon which traces its roots to the US Willy's jeep, were launched by GRIPP (Green Renewable Independent Power Producer) in cooperation with Greenpeace. The Electric Jeepneys are meant to steer clear of the use of fossil fuels to help mitigate climate change, even as it addresses urban problems such as air pollution and solid waste.

WADAB is a band that hails from DAVAO. Their name is a play on the word DAVAO. WADAB consists of NONOY TAN on lead vocals and guitar, REY MAGTOTO on lead vocals and bass, MON TORRALBA on lead guitar and vocals, BENJIE CASILAN on drums, percussion and vocals, TATO MALAY & NONOY UY on keyboards and vocals. NONOY TAN and MON TORRALBA wrote the song. It was released in 1979.

Here is a video footage of the jeepney girls promoting the jeepney as the main means of transportation in Manila...hehehe. Watch how Bambi sits in the comfort of her own seat with both her legs nestled comfortably towards Aires. Her comfort zone was shortlived when passengers got in the jeepney and had to find their seats...hehe. Oh well, the jeepney was in Buendia LRT when the video was taken.
