The Data Center Simplified - The End of Inefficiency and Complexity

Today's data centers have become an unacceptable drain on company resources. They are overbuilt, with too many layers, too many devices, too many operating systems, running too many applications, requiring too much management and too much energy. Learn what experts from Juniper Networks, IBM and Nemertes Research have to say about this topic in this video. Hear about what the new approaches are to simplify and lower costs in the data center, and how to get a full return on investment from technologies such as server virtualization.

outrageous inefficiency

Common and Statute law in Australia is based on the ability of judges and juries to guess what might be on the mind of the opposite sex. With a solitary men's jurisdiction, the delivery of justice is so appallingly inefficient that only the privileged have access to a fair outcome. The Constitution of Australia which establishes the courts, recognised men's inalienable right to make decisions about their own lives without fear of interruption or intimidation at inception. It did not, and in the absence of reform, does not, recognise that women have this same right. No provision has ever been made for either a women's legislature or a women's jurisdiction at law. It is an utterly sexist, discriminatory and unquestionably inappropriate and grossly inefficient and ineffective document in the governance of the nation, a document serving the interests of men exclusively. In absence of the recognition of a collective women's mind and with the presumption of the alienation of women at promulgation, the Australian Constitution invests men only with power regardless of women's participation in legislatures and the law. A women's court is best equipped to deal with a female applicant or defendant yet the only courts available are those set up by men to which women are invited so long as they don't assert that women, collectively, think differently from men or that what's on a woman's mind is more justly considered by another woman. Relations between women and men are the basis of society. The state of mind of the applicant, witness or defendant, is the basis of law. Configuring society with the law equitably is the basis of justice. With the provision of both women's and men's legislatures and jurisdictions, the women and men who make the rules and deliver judicial decisions, will, as they do now in the men's legislatures and jurisdiction, consider each other when making laws and delivering decisions. When disputes of sufficient animosity arise between the rules and decisions women and men make, elders may intervene. Moreover, the judiciary is not sufficiently inept as to be unable to configure existing resources according to the essential nature of the service its members provide. The efficiency outcome obtained by clearing up the massive confusion of a system based on guesswork should provide all people with access to justice not just corporations with sufficient funds to buy justice as is the current approach. Streamlining the delivery of justice with constitutional reform providing for women's and men's legislatures presided over by an executive of elders accompanied by courts of women's and men's jurisdiction is essential to the future of the nation. 1 August, 2007 Common and Statute law

UN to clean up its image by reforms

The United Nations has seen its ups and downs over the past sixty years. Reports of corruption, scandals and inefficiency at the organisation have damaged its image. Critics say that as a foundation based on dialogue, diplomacy and compromise, the UN is a contradiction to its own principals without reforms.

Pleading for Help from my Christian brothers and sisters

In ten days I have been able to upload 160 videos of John Piper's Sermons on my channel. In a year and a half the official Desiring God channel has uploaded 300 videos. In two and a half years sermonindex has uploaded around 1000 videos. By the grace of God, I've done 1/10 that in ten days. With a 95% efficiency rating compared to the old way of doing it (which I've done and know just how inefficient it is) I have discovered how to take all the inefficiency of uploading audio and/or video sermons onto youtube. I now have two choices. First choice: I can make a public tutorial on how to do this and unleash this information to the world, resulting in both a huge influx of the gospel of Christ and a huge influx of a different gospel of man(whether by Buddhists, "Christians", Atheists, etc). Second Choice: I can only send this guide to Christians already doing this on youtube, make a private video tutorial that I will only share with them. I need your counsel, what should I do?

Riz Khan - Nigeria's Oil - 22 July 08 Part 1

Awash in oil, yet its people, for the most part, are destitute. Nigeria discovered "liquid gold" half a century ago and today is the world's eighth largest oil exporter. But the country is plagued by corruption, inefficiency, underdevelopment and an uprising in its Niger Delta -- the area where most of its oil reserves are located. So why, some 600 billion dollars later, are Nigeria's people still among the poorest in the world? Is it the 'resource curse' or something more?

Using Audio Technology to Reduce Global Illiteracy, Poverty

Google Tech Talks January, 8 2008 ABSTRACT For more info, see http://literacybridge.org/ Knowledge is power; but most knowledge is tied up in text. So how do the 774 million illiterate adults in the world access knowledge crucial to preventing disease, creating economic opportunity, and defending their political and human rights? Cliff spent six weeks in a remote region of Ghana to understand rural poverty and sustainable development. He saw many impressive local organizations sharing valuable information for development; but he also experienced the inefficiency of delivering all this information in person. In response to this problem, Literacy Bridge was founded to empower children and adults with tools for scalable knowledge sharing and literacy learning. The Talking Book Project is Literacy Bridge's major program, developing new and affordable digital audio technology to provide vital, locally generated information and literacy training to people with limited access to either. Imagine a $5 iPod used to play locally generated podcasts, plus a decentralized, digital content distribution system that reaches villages without electricity but also enables global content sharing. Aside from the innovative use of technology, partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, and government agencies play a pivotal role in the Talking Book Project. During this talk, Cliff will share his observations from Ghana and discuss Literacy Bridge's Talking Book Project. Speaker: Cliff Schmidt Executive Director of Literacy Bridge

Milton Friedman on The Gold Standard

Dr. Friedman (born July 15, 1912), a 1976 Nobel Prize winner for excellence in economics, was one of the most effective advocates of economic freedoms and free enterprise. A Senior Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution. At the age of 94, Dr. Friedman passed away on November 16, 2006 in San Francisco, California. "When government -- in pursuit of good intentions -- tries to rearrange the economy, legislate morality, or help special interests, the costs come in inefficiency, lack of innovation, and loss of freedom. Government should be a referee, not an active player. In the United States, government has gone far beyond the basics." Source: http://home.att.net/~mwhodges/friedman.htm

Toroidal Generator

My attempt to build a generator that doesn't create 'free' energy, but will reduce the drag or Lenz effect most conventional generators experience. This is my quest to help produce more power for less fuel consumption. Imagine a generator that uses 1/3 to 1/2 less torque/horsepower to turn it! My first attempt had 6 very small coils and produced 12 VAC @ 6 amps. The new coil produces 5 to 6 VAC (amperage unknown.) The good news: NEITHER TIME DID THE GENERATOR EXPERIENCE LENZ'S EFFECT WHEN SHORTED OUT!! Unfortunately, the unit experiences a lot of heat (180 degrees F in 3 minutes of operating time.) I'm working to remedy this inefficiency with a different coil material other than pure steel.

Global Report - 17-September -2008

http://www.instablogs.com/ US Federal reserves rescues AIG from collapse The Federal Reserve has finally managed to turn the tide that could have could have shook the very foundations of the global market system. All the talk of near imminent collapse of AIG has been put to rest after Fed's $85b loan rescue. However the most radical intervention in central bank's history to save private business is bound to raise fresh controversy. The government put taxpayers hard earned at risk protect bad investments made by AIG and other firms. Besides why only AIG and not Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns who were allowed to fade out? With a precedent already established the Federal reserve should probably brace itself for other possible bailouts. Finally, the deregulated financial system of the U.S stands badly exposed for its inefficiency and unavailability. The governments must introduce safety measures to keep a tab on the functioning of private financial businesses. Rest apart; the financial crisis is definite to ensure an intense political debate during Presidential campaign. Political parties in India demand implementation of repressive laws After the Delhi bombings voices advocating implementation of repressive laws are afloat like never before. Undoubtedly, India needs a security mechanism which can effectively fight the terror threat but we certainly do not require a set of demonic laws that infringe all human rights. Repressive laws such as TADA and POTA cannot be the antidote to terror. Such laws based on ethnic profiling are counter productive and have done more harm than good in the past. Our report card on human rights violation is already dismal and replete with incidents of fake encounters, custodial deaths etc. Implementation of such draconian laws will only push the radicalization of the moderates and recruitment drive of the extremists. The government should not therefore consider the implementation of such laws. It is time to drop all partisan politics and devise concrete measures that fight terrorism without violating the basic freedom to life and liberty. Britain introduces Sarah's Law to ensure child protection Sarah's law is a gigantic leap in fighting crimes against children within United Kingdom. Finally Sarah Payne's death at the hands of a convicted pedophile Roy Whiting has led to dramatic response from public authorities. It allows single mothers, parents and guardians can seek police help in conducting background checks on somebody with close access to their children. Information on people who could pose a threat to the children's lives will empower the parents and help the latter protect their children better. However when compare to Megan's law in US the law falls short in one respect. It does not allow the information regarding convicted sex offender to be made public. This is unfair. The information on sex offenders should be made public so that other parents become vigilant towards freely roaming pedophiles that are a potential threat to their children. The scheme should be rolled out throughout Britain without any delay and communities should actively participate to ensure its success. South Korea and United States prepare for post Kim Jong II era Good news finally for the Korean peninsula. The rumors surrounding Kim Jong II's frail health have finally paved way for a contingency plan to meet any eventuality following the north's collapse. A totalitarian dynasty under Kim Jong II has transformed the country into a vast prison camp, where living conditions are close to medieval. Whatever the state generated propaganda can come up with, nothing can cover up the Dear Leaders' disastrous policies, which have brought starvation and death to more than a million people since the 1990's. Many have fled the country after attempting the most daring escapes across the border. North Korea can boast of its nuclear capabilities, but nothing can conceal the squalor, misery and repression subjected on its populace. It's high time South Korea recognizes its responsibility and rescue its second half from a decade of tyranny without worrying about the cost of absorbing their newly liberated brothers. http://www.instablogs.com/

Half a million on the missing list

Nearly half a million people are currently listed as missing in Russia. Of the tens of thousands that disappear each year, most are usually found within a short period of time. However, sometimes bureaucracy and police inefficiency hinder the searches, which can often last for months and even years.
