Diary of Misfortunes Part 1

**READ READ READ READ**!!!! Okay, so, there are a ton of mistakes. One is the speech bubbles. I was gonna give each person an individual one like I did in MCK, but then I changed my mind and just color coded them ^___^; and then I was too lazy to redo the ones I gave individual speech bubbles too. :P Note: circles = thought bubble rectangles = speech bubble Note 2: && whenever the pinky/magenta text with the typewriter effect happens means that's what Rina had put in her diary. Yeah, and, I really should be finishing up MCK instead of making a whole new series.. ?! like wtf am I doing, haha .___. ;; So, should I continue or not? But of course I'm still finishing MCK. Yeah. o_o; ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For future reference for whatsoever -san: This is the most common honorific and is equivalent to Mr., Miss, Ms., or Mrs. It is the all-purpose honorific and can be used in any situation where politeness is required. -sama: This is one level higher than "-san" and is used to confer great respect. -kun: This suffix is used at the end of boys' names to express familiarity or endearment. It is also sometimes used by men among friends, or when addressing someone younger or of a lower station. -chan: This is used to express endearment, mostly toward girls. It is also used for little boys, pets, and even among lovers. It gives a sense of childish cuteness. -Sempai/senpai: This title suggests that the addressee is one's senior in a group or organization. It is most often used in a school setting where underclassmen refer to their upperclassmen as "sempai/senpai." It can also be used in the workplace, such as when a newer employee addresses an employee who has seniority in the company. -kohai: This is the opposite of "sempai" and is used toward underclassmen in school or newcomers in the workplace. It connotes that the addressee is of a lower station. -sensei: Literally meaning "one who has come before," this title is used for teachers, doctors, or masters, of any profession or art. credits for definitions are from the manga Nodame Cantabile by Ninomiya Tomoko (I just copied it off cause these definitions are shorter than the ones on wikipedia :P)

فيوليت ديكسون - ام سعود - في مقابلة قديمة 1964

http://q8istuff.blogspot.com/ Violet Penelope Lucas-Calcraft was born in Gautby, Lincolnshire, England. Her father was Neville Lucas-Calcraft, a land agent. The 1900 census shows the family were living in Moat House, Gautby: the house was owned by Robert Charles de Gray Vyner, for whom Violet's father worked. She met her husband Harold Dickson (1881 -- 1959) in Marseilles, France, shortly after the end of World War I, where she was working in a bank. She travelled out to meet him in India, where he was stationed and where they were married. Shortly afterwards he was posted to Iraq. Harold Dickson served as British Political Agent in Bahrain from 1919-1920.He also served in Persia (present-day Iran). In 1929 he was appointed British Political Agent to Kuwait, and served in this role until 1936. He briefly held this role again in 1941. Violet accompanied him on all these postings, and soon became fluent in Arabic. After his retirement from political service, Harold Dickson worked for the Kuwait Oil Company. Violet Dickson was a keen botanist and published a book on the flora of Bahrain and Kuwait in 1955. She regularly sent wild flower collections to the botanic gardens at Kew Gardens in London, and the desert plant that she introduced to science, Horwoodia dicksoniae (known as khuzama in Arabic), was named in her honour. She wrote her autobiography, Forty Years in Kuwait, at the urging of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond series of books. He had travelled to Kuwait in 1960 to research and write a book for the Kuwait Oil Company, and Dame Violet was one of the people he interviewed. Fleming's book, titled State of Excitement, was never published as the Kuwait Oil Company 'did not care for its tone'Violet Dickson's book appeared 11 years after Fleming first suggested she should write it. As the wife of a British government figure, Violet was expected to assist her husband in his duties, primarily at social functions and by accompanying him on some of his travels across the region. As a result, she came to know many of the rulers and dignitaries of the region, including King Abdul Aziz ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia, (who on one occasion presented her with an oryx, which became a pet), King Faisal of Iraq, four Kuwaiti rulers and many tribal sheikhs. She also dealt frequently with Western diplomats. This contact continued after the death of her husband, as her knowledge of Kuwait and the feuds and rivalries among the kingdom's 600-strong royal family made her an indispensable resource for British ambassadors and visiting diplomats. In 1976 Violet's 80th birthday party was a notable event for the British expatriate community in Kuwait. Violet Dickson had a son Saud (who died in May 2005), and a daughter Zahra Freeth (née Dickson), who is also an author on Middle Eastern topics. Dame Violet was given the honorific title Umm Saud (Arabic: أم سعود meaning Mother of Saud), and was also known as Umm Kuwait - Mother of Kuwait. She was also given the honorific Hajjiyah, a term of respect meaning a female who has completed the Haj, the pilgrimage to Mecca. This is unusual, as non-Muslims are not allowed to perform the Haj. Violet Dickson was made Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 1942, Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 1964 and Dame Commander of the British Empire (DBE) in 1976. She was awarded the Lawrence of Arabia Memorial Medal awarded by the Royal Society for Asian Affairs, London (formerly the Royal Central Asian Society) in 1960, for her work among the Bedouin women of Arabia and her study of the flora and fauna of the desert. The Dickson House Cultural Centre, Kuwait City The British Political Agency in Kuwait was based in a house that had been built in 1870 for a Kuwaiti merchant. The Dicksons moved in to the house in 1929, and the building served as the British political agency until 1935. Harold Dickson continued to live there until his death in 1959, and Violet until the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, when she was evacuated, unwillingly, to Britain. She intended to return to her home in Kuwait City, but died on 4 January 1991, some eight weeks before the liberation of Kuwait on 27 February. She was 94. The house was ransacked during the invasion, but has since been restored by the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, and is now a tourist attraction. It is one of few surviving examples of 19th-century Kuwaiti architecture, with thirty rooms on two floors. The Dame Violet Dickson Scholarship The British Council in Kuwait offers the Dame Violet Dickson Scholarship to Kuwaiti women to encourage them to continue their postgraduate studies in the U.K. The scholarship is described as 'prestigious' and 'Kuwait's flagship award for women', reflecting the esteem in which Violet Dickson was held.

PULP FICTION The Gold Watch music

One story from hilarious Pulp Fiction. To write Pulp Fiction, Tarantino moved to Amsterdam, far from the pother of Los Angeles and close to the relaxing aroma of the marijuana. There, install in one small apartment without phone and with the only one contact in the USA, his efficient manager, the producer Quentin Tarantino drafted an extensive script of 500 pages in which three connected histories were interweaving between if with threads of a fascinating coincidence on the life of different personages and as them they solve his problems, acting without losing the allegiance to common beginning. Pulp Fiction movie about the people and the situations into which it is they who get. In 1994 the movie was nominated for seven Oscar, although finally alone achievement to rise with the honorific title of Best Original Screenplay of the year. The movie based on four storys so-called medium-length films, about the life's of different personages. One of them is the history about the Butch, a boxer who has a relic of he father - the gold watch.

EDIT : for those who were wondering, ~sama is an honorific used to show respect and deference to someone who is of higher rank and class, or even someone who is exceptional in looks and talent, etc. for example, like how God is referred to as kami-sama, and bae yonjun is referred to as yon-sama in japan XDD

MGR - M.G.Ramachandran Part 2

MGR - M.G.Ramachandran http://www.tamilnation.org/hundredtamils/mgr.htm#Birth_Soil_Bond MGR would also make sure that he will teach good manners and discipline to the masses through the movies. Therefore, in the characters he played in 120-odd movies, he would never smoke or take alcoholic drinks. On top of that, he would never physically or mentally abuse women. This self-imposed rigidity restricted the character roles he would play and movie critics ridiculed him for this 'un-natural style' of his characters. But MGR would have the last word. Ultimately, he claimed the respected honorific 'vaathiyar' (teacher) in its proper sense of the word. Call it a mere coincidence or the destiny of Eelam Tamils, that when the liberation struggle began earnestly in 1977, MGR would become the chief minister of the Tamil Nadu. Though his interest in the problems of Eelam Tamils remained passive till 1982, the ethnic holocaust of 1983 kindled his support for the Eelam cause. 1983 also saw the change in guard among the political leaders of the Eelam Tamils. MGR had never felt comfortable with the TULF leadership since he had perceived them as emotionally more close to the DMK leadership. When the leadership mantle in the struggle for Eelam needed a change and a boost, MGR became the god-father of the LTTE and made sure that the 'new born baby' would not suffer a premature death in the hands of wily J.R.Jayewardene. To his allies in politics, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, the link that MGR had with the LTTE proved embarrassing. But they simply had to ignore it for their own political survival in the South India. For the support that he extended to the Tamil Eelam cause, MGR became the arch-enemy of the Sinhalese power brokers from 1983 till his death in December 1987. Many Eelam Tamils also did not expect much from MGR after his skirmish with the TULF leadership at the 1981 Madurai Tamil International Conference. But, now in hindsight, one can see how vital was the support of MGR for the Eelam cause from 1983 till his death. That the admiration Tamil masses had for MGR was not purely a 'cinema craze' was proved in India, when movie stars of equal stature such as Sivaji Ganesan, N.T. Rama Rao and Amitabh Bachchan could not transfer their popularity in movies to the political world. The political careers of Sivaji Ganesan and Amitabh Bachehan never took off from the ground. Only N.T.Rama Rao was able to become the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and he too lost that position subsequently. To my friends in the USA, when I tried to explain the unusual career of MGR, I called him a "three-in-one". He had the movie magic of John Wayne, the political success of Ronald Reagan and the messianic appeal of Martin Luther King Jr. How could one explain the extraordinary career of MGR, which began in Kandy and ended in Madras? Though not considered a native in the place of his birth or in Tamil Nadu where he grew up and called it home, he became the adored leader, who would be envied by every local politician. At least Kavi Arasu Kannadasan (who had been a close friend and sometimes harshest critic of MGR) had an answer. In 1980, Kannadasan noted that MGR was blessed with an "Asura Jathakam" (devil's horoscope). Not everyone will agree with that assessment. But, considering the unfavourable odds he faced in his life and the 'fights' he won, definitely there should have been a blessing from the devil which protected him in so many trials. Like other great leaders and revolutionaries, MGR also had his weaknesses. But these do not detract the good deeds he did for the down-trodden in Tamil Nadu and for Eelam Tamils who landed in India as refugees after 1983. MGR was neither an intellectual nor a folk philosopher. But his life-time teaching was short and simple; "Fight for your Rights". That's what he preached in his 100-odd movies. ...We miss you, Vathiyar.

How to make onigiri.

These videos actually suck. You should go here: http://otakunoms.livejournal.com/ C: Onigiri is simple, but still good. Also good toasted :D PS: the pun is that if you don't see the o in o-nigiri as an honorific, it looks like oni giri--demon cutter. For this you'll need: Short grain rice Nori Some filling (fish, umeboshi, other tsukemono, etc.) Make rice according to the directions on its package. Cut the top off of a zipper bag and place the bag in a 1/2 cup measuring cup. Cut sheet of nori into strips. When rice is done and still hot, place a bit in the bag, let it steam up the plastic, and dump it out. Sprinkle salt on the plastic and then fill the cup completely with rice. Bury a piece of filling in the middle and remove the plastic bag from the cup. Form into a ball or triangle and remove from the plastic. Wrap a strip of nori around the bottom. You can make them bigger if you'd like. I just think small ones are cute.

Nachna Painda Ay sain zahoor

Nachna Painda Ay Sain Zahoor Sain Zahoor or Saeen Zahur Ahmad (Urdu: سائیں ظہور) (b. around 1945) is a leading Sufi musician from Pakistan. He spent his life singing in the Sufi shrines, and had not cut a record until 2006, when he was nominated for the BBC World Music awards based on word of mouth[2]. He emerged as the "best BBC voice of the year 2006"[3], an award that had earlier recognized other prominent Sufi singers such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Parveen. Sain is not his first name but an honorific and is also spelt Saeen or Saiyan, and Zahoor may be spelt Zahur.

Dama Dam Mast Qalandar - Sain Zahoor

Dama Dam Mast Qalandar - Sain Zahoor ************************************* Sain Zahoor or Saeen Zahur Ahmad (b. around 1945) is a leading Sufi singer from Pakistan. He spent his life singing in the Sufi shrines, and had not cut a record until 2006, when he was nominated for the BBC World Music awards based on word of mouth. He emerged as the "best BBC voice of the year 2006", an award that had earlier recognized other prominent Sufi singers such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Parveen. Sain is not his first name but an honorific and is also spelt Saeen or Saiyan, and Zahoor may be spelt Zahur. Life Born in the Okara/Sahiwal region in the province of Punjab (Pakistan), Zahoor was the youngest in a rural peasant family. He is said to have started singing at the age of five, and from that early age, he had dreamt of a hand beckoning him towards a shrine. He left home at the age of thirteen, roaming the Sufi shrines of Sind, Punjab and Azad Kashmir, making a living through singing. Eventually, Sain was walking past a small shrine in the south Punjab town of Uch Sharif (known for its Sufi traditions), when "someone waved at me with his hand, inviting me in, and I suddenly realised that it was this hand which I saw in my dream." For some time, he studied music under Ustad Sain Raunka Ali of Patiala Gharana, whom he met at Baba Bulleh Shah's dargah (shrine), and who became his first guru for Sufi kalams (verses). Sain also learned music from Uch Sharif based musicians Ustad Ronaq Ali and Sain Marna. Sain cannot read or write but is known for his memory of song lyrics; mostly he sings compositions of the major Sufi poets, Bulleh Shah, Mullah Shah Badakhshi, Muhammad Buksh, and others. All his life, Sain Zahoor has performed mainly in dargahs (Sufi tombs/shrines) and festivals, and in the streets. He adopted the folk instrument Ektara (ek= one, tar = string), in its three-stringed version, as his main instrument. Like some traditions of Sufi music, he has a passionate, high-energy style of singing, often dancing in a frenzied style with the tassels on his instrument whirling around him Dressed in embroidered (kurta), beads, tightly bound turban, as well as ghungroos (anklet-bells worn by dancers), Sain Zahoor cuts an impressive figure. His voice has an earthy tone, almost cracking at the edges, but capable of a wide vocal and emotional range. In 1989 he performed on a concert stage for the first time at the All Pakistan Music Conference, which brought him into musical prominence. Subsequently he has emerged as a leading performer in Pakistan, frequently appearing on TV and in concerts. Zahoor has also given concerts in UK, Japan, and India. Sufi singing is focused on poetry with themes of devotional love, which shares much with Persian mystic poets like Rumi and with other South Asian traditions such as the Bhakti cult. Sufi traditions highlight a softer, multi-cultural aspect of Islam, and are seen as a countering "the extremism of the mullahs who use the mosques to spread ill-will" against other cultural groups, according to some organizers of Sain Zahoor's concerts. In 2006, Sain had a record out (Awazay, sounds) with Matteela Records. In 2007, he helped produce the soundtrack to the new Pakistani film, Khuda Ke Liye.

Az's Big Red Radio Ep75pt1 KASR VIDEO

Want a little pussy? Good. Elvis the Cat stops by with a riddle. What do you get when you cross a metalhead DJ with a Star Trek geek? Answer: Bobby Diablo What if you add in the KASR Supermodel? Answer: Sex appeal. Before Bobby Diablo begins his visit to Arizona's most popular ROCK radio station: 98 KUPD; he and the Supermodel must engage in the lost mystical art of the East known as Saké! Kasrvnotebook: Saké(Japanese: 酒; pronounced [sa.kɛ] is a Japanese alcoholic beverage made from rice. In Japanese, the word saké (usually preceded by the honorific prefix o-) does not specifically refer to this specific beverage; instead, the word Nihonshu 日本酒 (literally, "Japanese alcoholic beverage") is used to distinguish it from other beverages. In English, the word saké never refers to anything other than Nihonshu. Saké is also commonly referred to in English as "rice wine", but the characterisation implied is not accurate. Wine is made from the single fermentation of plant juices. Saké is produced by multiple fermentation of rice, which is more similar to how beer is produced. Also, outside Japan there exist other beverages known as "rice wine" that are significantly different from Nihonshu. Warning: remember if you don't hit that accent mark in Saké, the Japanese waiter will think you've ordered a glass of raw salmon! ASU Student Radio is celebrating it's 25th year being the Sun Devil's Original Alternative! For more info check out http://www.theblaze1260.com. "Don't expect a lot from this show." Was the unofficial motto of KASR VIDEO, which made a pleasant surprise when we actually knocked out a great show! The program was a weekly 2 hour public access offshoot of the Arizona State University's original alternative radio station that aired in Phoenix. The music video show featured rarely seen videos and "new" music not in the "main stream." Along with non-conventional interviews it became a decent way to nurse a hangover with the midnight party crowd. These clips are edited as a sort of best of; minus the music videos.

Cynthia Witthoft - Lucifer Between Us

"Cynthia Witthoft" Song: "Lucifer Between Us" Album: "Rectal Hidden Tracks - 2002" Lucifer is a Latin word meaning "light bearer" (from lux, lucis, "light", and ferre, "to bear, bring"), a Roman astrological term for the "Morning Star" the planet Venus. The word Lucifer was the translation of the Septuagint Greek heosphoros, ("dawn-bearer"; cf. Greek phosphoros, "light-bearer"; itself the translation of the Hebrew Helel ben Shahar, Son of Dawn), used by Jerome in the Vulgate, having mythologically the same meaning as Prometheus who brought fire to humanity. Passage 14:12 from the Book of Isaiah referred to one of the popular honorific titles of a Babylonian king; however, later interpretations of the text, and the influence of embellishments in works such as Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost, led to the common interpretation in Christian belief that Lucifer was a poetic appellation of Satan. Modern and late Medieval Christian thought derived from this interpretation the idea that Lucifer is a fallen angel who is Satan, the embodiment of evil and an enemy of God. In Christian literature and legend, Lucifer is generally considered to have been a prominent archangel in heaven, although Book of Ezekiel 28:14 says: "You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there." In the fully-developed theme of "The War of Heaven", Lucifer had been motivated by pride to lead a revolution against God. When the rebellion failed, Lucifer was cast out of heaven, along with a third of the heavenly host, and came to reside in the world. Many modern Christians have followed tradition and equated "Lucifer" with Satan, or the Devil. The King James Version of the Bible, which has been enormously influential in the English speaking world for several centuries, retains the reference in Isaiah 14:12. In addition, a parallel description of Lucifer's fall is thought to be found in Ezekiel chapter 28 ("A Prophecy Against the King of Tyre"), which contains a lament over an "anointed cherub" who was in the "holy mountain of God". He is described as "perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." The passage goes on to describe this being's expulsion from the "mount of God", apparently because his "heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness." Afterwards the passage describes the eventual fate of this corrupted cherub: "therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." There is dispute between the accurate translations in Ezekiel 28 concerning who is being addressed and the description of the address itself. At-khĕruwb (את-כרוב) [Above Hebraic translation of "Thou [art] the cherub") breaks gender violations in the written language. Ath, as it is used in the previous translation, is feminine as a pronoun; while kĕruwb is a masculine noun. Ath can also be used as a genderless direct object of a verb, yielding its objective form. For these reasons, some translations interpret this passage as "The cherub I created for you (King of Tyre)." This distinguishes the fall of the man who was protected, and brought to great wealth by God's graces and overseeing hand (given the cherub he was appointed), from the cherub. In this translation, God's wrath was directed at the man who gave up his perfection for commerce and self-ratified intelligence. The cherub was both the agent of protection for the King and also facilitated the destruction of him. On the same platform, the use of Eden (עדן) as a proper noun is argued to be out of context, and most likely takes the descriptive form: pleasure, luxury, or delight. In addition to Isaiah and Ezekiel, various Old Testament scriptures referring to occult powers such as witchcraft, more theological details about fallen angels can be found in the Pseudepigrapha, which are generally not considered canon. In the book of Job, Satan, who has been wandering the earth, has a discussion with God and makes a deal with him regarding Job, the terms of which change in increments throughout the story of Job.

Sunday Rose

Hollywood correspondent for morning news programs of both Australia & New Zealand, Nelson Aspen, had a brainstorm when Aussie Nicole Kidman and Kiwi Keith Urban welcomed their daughter,Sunday Rose, earlier this month. While contacting his sources in Nashville to suss out the breaking story of the baby's birth, Aspen reestablished contact with his country western pal Beau Davidson, and urged the young artist to comeup with an honorific lullaby for the Tinseltown tyke. Davidson was up to the task and quickly penned what could be a sure-fire hit ballad and premiered it during Aspen's report for New Zealand's "Sunrise." Industry insiders in the heart of Nashville are already buzzing about Beau. Looks like Sunday, born on a Monday, is good luck for all concerned. As aired on WSMV (NBC) Nashville and New Zealand's morning show, "Sunrise." For more on Beau, please see www.myspace.com/beaudavidson.
