Edvard Munch was a Norwegian symbolist/expressionist painter and printmaker, and is considered - along with Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin and Paul Cézanne - one of the most important artists of the late 19th century. This is a selection of works from Munch's "Frieze of Life" set to the music of Tangerine Dream. Curated by Neville Wakefield, this year's Frieze Projects commissioned works dotted around the fair that provide a breather from the business of buying and selling nearly all reflect on the unique conditions of the fair itself. JJ Charlesworth caught up with some of the artists involved: Agnieszka Kurant, Bert Rodriguez and Erling Klingenberg of the Icelandic collective Kling & Bang.

The Frieze Building: beloved home of the Department of Theatre and Drama. This decrepit but much loved building is 100 years old. It will be demolished later this year to clear way for a new dorm and classroom complex. In this scene, the Frieze Building shares with us her memories and a few last words.

Frieze 1 - "Karma" The first frieze in a series of freeform, first- and third-person tours around Baltimore, MD, by J.D. Lovejoy. Locations visited: Reservoir Hill; Locust Point; MICA Campus; Jones Falls; Inner Harbor.

A quilt featuring video patches of interior space that is reconfigured and evolving as a consequence of demolition, and video patches of the demolition occuring outside on the corner where three Ann Arbor streets converge, set to the music of Ansted Moss and the sounds of the corner activity --the quilt is built as Frieze is unbuilt. Inside angles, juxtapositions, patterns, and possibilities expand as the portion of the building remaining intact shrinks each day. Contains rare shots inside the transformation captured just days before the building was completely gone. Is an investigation of notions of containment.
