Surat ini terdiri atas 30 ayat, termasuk golongan surat-surat Makkiyyah, diturunkan sesudah surat Al Lail. Nama Al Fajr diambil dari kata Al Fajr yang terdapat pada ayat pertama surat ini yang artinya fajar. Pokok-pokok isinya: Allah bersumpah bahwa azab terhadap orang-orang kafir tidak akan dapat dielakkan; beberapa contoh dari umat-umat yang sudah dibinasa kan; kenikmatan hidup atau bencana yang dialami oleh seseorang bukanlah tanda penghormatan atau penghinaan Allah kepadanya, melainkan cobaan belaka; celaan terhadap orang-orang yang tidak mau memelihara anak yatim dan tidak memberi makan orang miskin; kecaman terhadap orang yang memakan harta warisan dengan campur aduk dan orang yang amat mencintai harta; malapetaka yang dihadapi orang- orang kafir di hari kiamat; orang-orang yang berjiwa muthmainnah (tenang) mendapat kemuliaan di sisi Allah. Surat Al Fajr mengemukakan contoh umat yang ditimpa azab dan beberapa sifat-sifat manusia yang tercela, serta menegaskan kemuliaan yang diberikan Allah s.w.t kepada orang yang berjiwa tenang. HUBUNGAN SURAT AL FAJR DENGAN SURAT AL BALAD 1. Dalam surat Al Fajr terdapat celaan kepada orang yang amat mencintai harta warisan dengan campur aduk dan tidak membantu orang-orang miskin, sedang pada surat Al Balad dijelaskan penggunaan harta yang terpuji di sisi Allah yaitu memerdekakan hamba sahaya, memberi makan anak yatim dan anak-anak miskin. 2. Pada akhir surat Al Fajr manusia dibagi kepada ahli neraka dan ahli syurga. Sedang pada surat Al Balad disebutkan bahwa manusia dibagi kepada golongan kanan dan golongan kiri.

Ankara'da okunan sabah ezanı. Uzun zamandır kaydetmeyi düşünüyordum, çünkü her sabah ayrı güzellikte okuyor hocaefendiler maşallah. Nihayet kısmet oldu. Foreigners: This is fajr adhaan (call for prayer) from Ankara. It invites muslim people to Cami(Mosque) for fajr prayer, at about 5 o'clock in the morning. I recorded this in month of Ramadan (in which we muslims fast between fajr adhan to maghrib adhan). So this call also announces that the fast has begun. fajr adhan (muslim morning call to prayer) echoing through the streets of amman, jordan. so i've now discovered the source of the adhan itself. it is given by a man named Ma'rouf ash-Shareef, and the adhan is coming from a masjid named Masjid ash-Shaheed al Malik al-Mu'assis (and is transmitted to various masajid via radio)!

This is a recording I made while in Makkah, Saudi Arabia of the Fajr Adhan at King Fahad Mosque (The Muezzin is Ahmed Al-Ahmari). I have included some hadiths about the virtues of the adhan. This recording is very special to me, I hope you enjoy it!
