The pre-production only took about 2 hours (incl. scriptwriting), production took about 7 hours, the post-production only took a few hours. With only one person production crew, this movie created with budget almost nothing, this is the future of indie movie-making. All the other shots flow together and behave like all good continuities should. But discontinuity picks fights, hangs out at MacDonald's, and listens to rap music. It sticks out like a sore thumb; but like a Goth kid, that's exactly what it wants. Now why would anybody insert a shot that doesn't "flow" with the scene? Watch the episode to find out. Question: Didn't the Apostle Paul say that we are no longer under law but under grace? If so, then what is the use of the Law of God under the New Covenant? George Grant: Christians have wrestled since the first century with the question of the two covenants, the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, the continuity between the two and where there may be discontinuity. Clearly, the Bible claims authority for every word, every "jot and tittle," Jesus makes it clear that there is not one word of all of the Scriptures that has passed from authority or applicability in the life of the believer. So in that sense there is absolute continuity. The Apostle Paul wrote to his young disciple Timothy, "All of scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God might be thoroughly equipped for every good work." There were no other Scriptures other than the Old Testament when the Apostle Paul wrote that. The Gospels had not yet been written. The letters were still in individual churches. The canon of the New Testament had not yet been assembled. The Apostle Paul clearly stated that the Old Testament is authoritative. In that sense there is no discontinuity. In another sense, there is absolute discontinuity for we have a new and better covenant in Jesus Christ. The cross of Jesus Christ is the focal point upon which all of history turns. Through the cross we see both the New and Old Covenant in a totally new light. The Old Testament and its standards are by no means abrogated. Yet they are transformed by the grace and mercy of God. It works like this: The law of God is the tutor or schoolmaster that leads us to Jesus Christ. In Christ and by His grace and mercy alone we have the power to live before God righteously with the cloak of Christ's perfection draped across our shoulders. The Westminster Confession divides the Old Testament law up into the civil law, the moral law and the ceremonial law. We today do not sacrifice cows or lambs as payment for our sin, because we have had a greater and more perfect sacrifice in Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. It is helpful to make these distinctions. At the same time, those laws are so intertwined that they are difficult to separate. Sometimes there are all three in a single sentence. You have to do some real exegetical gymnastics to get them all pried apart from one another. Some of the Old Testament Law is easily applied to our time. Thou shalt not steal. There is no place in the New Testament that says that bestiality is a sin. Yet there is hardly a Christian who would not say that sexual relations with an animal is perverse and wicked and a denial off God's standards of righteousness for the believer. We have to take the cross -- the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ and bring that lens to all of the Law -- moral, ceremonial and civil -- and see the application of those things to our day. We cannot take a cafeteria style approach and start picking and choosing which parts of God's Word we apply and which parts we do not.

NOTE: Please watch this video in high quality. This is a video of me driving from Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto, to Waterloo, a city of about 100,000 people, around 120 km west of Toronto. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate on that day, and we were caught in heavy rain during several segments of the trip. It gets especially bad toward the end, where visibility is reduced almost to zero, although it gets better again at the very end. Also, at about 1:43 there is a small discontinuity in the video because my friend (who was holding the camera) paused the recording for approximately 1 minute (which is negligible). The drive begins in Mississauga, then onto Highway 401, followed by Highway 8 and Highway 85 (also known as the Conestoga Parkway) after entering the municipality of Kitchener-Waterloo via the 401. I tried labeling the major streets and freeways in the video. Highway 401 is somewhat famous for being one of the largest roads in the world in certain sections, but this particular drive does not capture these sections :) The auto focus on the Mini DV camera sometimes focused on my dirty windshield instead of the road, but these glitches are temporary. The Eagles Hotel California performed by the Eden Prairie Paul Green School of Rock Music. I shot this over two shows, the high angle is from the first show, the floor view and the audio from the second. There will be discontinuity of costume, lighting, position, etc., deal with it. :) I love these shows, it restores my faith in music and the future. These are junior high and high school kids!
