Dielectric Grease Review - etrailer.com
Today we are going to talk about dielectric grease. A lot of people have most likely never heard of it. Basically this is a grease that conducts electricity and is basically used on an electrical connection or junction. If there was a plug going in between a truck and a trailer. Say for instance you have a 4 pole flat. You can apply just a little bit and plug the other 4 pole into it. That way you can have the grease on both pins. What happens is the grease helps cut down on the corrosion. Which happens when electrolysis happens. What that means is that the current will run through the metal here and react to the air. Thats how you get that green stuff that you see. This will slow that down quite a bit. Last but not least on your exterior ground like on your exterior trailers or on the bottom of your vehicle. Put a little dab of grease on the place your going to drill at. Then drill right through it and into the steel. It will drag the grease into the threads and into the steel so you have protection on the outside and going into the steel itself. One other thing is you can use this on your battery terminals on your car. It is the same process, electrolysis happens on your posts on the battery. Clean them up really good and apply a thin layer of grease then make your connections. That will make your batter posts last a bit longer. When you install a T1 connector you can dab just a little bit inside the connectors too. It does not take much all you really need is a thin line of grease. It really does not take much at all. When you have it ready to connect to the car side it is secure and no air can get in there. It provides another layer of protection. It is kind of hard to see but it does put a layer on both sides. This is a little cheat if you are ever in need of a gel filled scotch lock and you are out of them you can make your own. You take a regular old scotch lock and split it open and take a little dab right in there. It does not take much then you squeeze it back over and together and use it just like normal. Squeeze it over your wire that way you have a corrosion proof connection with a regular scotch lock. It still might be a good idea to cover it up with electrical tape but this will defiantly slow down the corrosion process. |

dielectric constant of water and an oscillator on 3.5 MHz
Dielectric constant of water, calculated with the formula of the preceding video. After that a capacitor is constructed with water as medium in-between. This capacitor (26 PF) is put parallel to a tank circuit of an oscillator that oscillates on 3.5 MHz. If water was a dielectric medium like paper, glass etc. (isolators) the oscillator had to work still, but on a lower frequency. But water is a conductor. If the tank circuit is shortcut by a piece of wire, the oscillator still oscillates, now on a higher frequency (approx. 10 MHz) because the piece of wire is -in fact - a coil, shorter then the coil for 3.5 MHz (shorter coil = less inductance). Even when the capacitor plates are connected in the glass of water (approx 35 cm wire in-between) the oscillator works on approx. 10 MHz. But with water as intermediate (approx 35 cm wire and plates connected to it) the oscillation stops. I presume because charge and a changing field needed for oscillation cannot be built up. dielectric constant of distilled water/oscillator 3.5 MHz
The same experiment as yesterday, but now with distilled water of laboratory quality. We can see now that the oscillator keeps oscillating and the water acts as isolator. Moving the plates towards each other in the distilled water (plates parallel to the tank circuit on 3.5 MHz) effects the capacitance, the capacitance of approx 28 pF (calculated, max.) lets the frequency goes down. Though this is "isolation like" a resistance between 300.000 Ohm and approx. 1 Mega Ohm can be measured in distilled water (distance 1 cm - 3 cm) with two electrodes (of the same material - in this case copper - to prevent a potential difference/Voltage build up). So distilled water is also a conductor, I presume. If you watch this video on another channel/website, please check YouTube for possible changed content/text. |

Hall Dielectric - Automated Systems
www.halldielectric.com Single Turntable System This turntable system includes a 14 foot diameter, 8-station table and one 15KW R. F. heat sealer with hydraulic press and automatic R. F. power control. The first automatic feeder uses two rolls of vinyl, one bottom sheet and one foil-stamped pocket. The next step, using the automatic board feeder with an X-Y Axis, places the board, followed with the top sheet feeder that has an in-line adjustable punching press. The last feeder is the label holder feeder. After sealing, an operator or a stripping station will remove the product. Cycle speeds are 450 to 600 cycles per hour. PLC controls complete the system. The accuracy of the system is up to .003 inches. An operator pendant box may be moved to suit needs Dual Turntable System The small turntable will feed 2 color deboss top sheets onto the large table by means of an X-Y adjustable feeder. The large 14 foot diameter 6-station has two double headed feeders with a 20KW R. F. sealer with automatic power controls. A product removal station with a waste stripper and stacker is also included. Fully Automated Turntable Manufacturing System Fully Automated Turntable systems require very little supervision. These machines are built to ruduce labor costs and increase production. Computer-controled, self-sustaining table manufacturing systems are built on built on a flexible, modular design allowing for quick modification and redesign to your manufactoring process. |

Light Refraction through a Dielectric (Simulation)
FDTD simulation of a beam of light as it hits a dielectric surface. Inside the dielectric, the speed of light is slower, so the wavefronts shift direction. Also note how the energy that does not enter the dielectric is reflected away at the same angle as the incidence. Frequency is 6.0 MHz, the angle of incidence is 45-degrees, and the dielectric constant is 4. |

Port Feeder We designed this special medical port insertion 4-up with a vibratory bowl when one of our customers in the medical field needed automatic port insertion as part of their automated system. They needed a cycle rate of less than 6 seconds per feed. Accuracy and speed are the goals of our automated systems. If we do not have a standard system to accomplish your needs we will design a specialized system for you. |
