This is a comparison between a stock DS-1 and one with the Keeley Mod. Definatley a BIG difference hearing it live. It might as well be a totally different pedal. Okay well I decided to make an actual review of the Boss DS-1 pedal. I actually made two of them, and couldn't decide which ones to put up, so I will put them both up, cut into 4 parts total. I use the pedal against two other OD's and one chorus pedal, so you can hear it in a signal chain, and what it sounds like compared to other OD's in it's price range. It's going from my Warmoth strat through a DOD FX59 to a Boss DS-1 to a Marshall GV-2 Guv'nor, to a CE-5 Chorus Ensemble and ultimately into a modded Carvin X100B 112. The speaker is an old Celestion. Don't mind the playing, I'm a bedroom rocker, not a pro, just trying to give an honest feel for the pedals and sounds they give. Anyways enjoy =) -J

this is a product demo of one of the most loved, hated, and misunderstood pedal on the market, hopefully this will help clarify some issues people have with this unit

This is my DS-1 modded the the Keeley DS-1 public Seeing Eye mod specs. It is the "blind" eye because I didn't feel like drilling a hole to show the LED in D5. Here is the link for the public mod: http://www.robertkeeley.com/audio6l6/dstech.html I use a Strat with a humbucker in the bridge and a Carvin Nomad amp. The first portion of the clip is with a clean amp, second part is with a distorted (dirty) amp. If you send your pedal into Keeley, it will sound different. The mods he does are slightly different than the publicly published mods (according to people who have done both). Enjoy!

Gibson SG Standard Randall RG100SC My board ain't true bypass or whatever so this is an unfair test.. It truly is an unfair world out there, so who cares! This is one of the best British-sounding pedals I've ever played (beats the Crunchbox and Box of Rock)..
