This is my grandparents old farm in Cowichan Bay BC. I believe it is now owned by a front man for the HA Nanaimo. It is in complete shambles. My grandmother would cry at the sorry fucking state this property is in today. For 30 years, in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s my grandfather bred world champion Blue ribbon Black Angus cattle here, called the Annsdale blood line. They had their own butcher shop on the farm. I believe the Annsdale line is still well regarded today in the cattle circuit. Anyhow this is on my dads side of the family, and this is him narrating here. in the mid 1980s we hauled over 600 loads of limestone boulders from the original Bamberton quarry in Cobble Hill, and hauled 400 loads of pitrun gravel from a Wikkerink pit across the highway on Bench Road. We had a local D8K dozer and all the Cowichan Valley dump trucks hauling in. We completely sealed the river and ocean out of the flats, making beautiful arable farmlands with the richest topsoil you have ever seen. yeah then TLC land conservancy got involved after we had to sell due to internal family strife and the whole fucking thing got flooded and destroyed. Now you know. Yes I am bitter.
