John Conyers: From Cowardice to Complicity
Some people say showing anger to Congress is the wrong approach. They say it's out of line and too easily dismissed by those who are supposed to be representing us. Let me tell those people what's out of line: Lying to Congress (a felony) and the American people to launch the illegal invasion and occupation of a country that posed no threat to us whatsoever. And subsequent results including (but not limited to): More than one million dead innocent civilians. More than four thousand dead American soldiers. Almost five million Iraqi refugees. The fastest growing such crisis on the planet. The entire Iraqi landscape, millions of people, and our soldiers permanently poisoned by the depleted uranium fallout from our illegal weapons. Twelve billion dollars per month being wasted on this disaster, so a few war profiteers and their Beltway cronies can have money coming out of every orifice while our country rockets toward total financial meltdown. Torture. In addition: Illegal detention of prisoners without charges, trial or access to a lawyer. Illegal warrantless spying on innocent American citizens. Illegal signing statements with which the president claims the non-existent authority to ignore laws passed by Congress as he sees fit. AND A 110TH CONGRESS THAT HAS NOT TAKEN A SINGLE STEP TOWARD IMPEACHMENT OF THE SINGLE MOST CORRUPT AND IMPEACHABLE ADMINISTRATION THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER SEEN. Forgive me if I no longer feel like being nice to these people. They are sitting on their blood-covered hands while our republic burns. |

Cuba's Cowardice
Poor Cuba "Cuba might not send boxers to Olympics: Castro August 09, 2007 Cuba's Olympic Committee is considering all its options, including not sending a boxing team to the Olympics, after two boxers fled the team in the Brazilian city of Rio and returned home in disgrace, the country's leader, Fidel Castro, said in a Wednesday newspaper column. "Sporting authorities are considering all the possibilities including changing the list of boxers or not sending any delegation at all," Castro said in the column, published in Cuban state daily Granma. Erislandy Lara and Guillermo Rigondeaux jumped ship from the Cuban boxing team at the Pan American Games held in Rio last month, at the urging of German boxing promoter Ahmet Oner. Castro, citing Spanish news agency EFE, said the two had spent their time getting drunk with prostitutes, bankrolled by Oner. The agencies said that last week that police had arrested the boxers for overstaying their visas, and they had then shamefacedly asked to return home, claiming they had been drugged by the promoter. Once back in Cuba, according to Castro, "the revolution kept its world: reuniting them with their families, giving them access to the press and giving them jobs in line with their knowledge. We have given equal attention to their state of health," Castro said. Castro judged Lara, 24 and captain of the boxing team, more guilty of the two. Despite his more responsible role "he delivered himself directly into the hands of the mercenaries", Castro said. Rigondeaux is a two-time Olympic bantamweight champion and Lara the amateur welterweight world champion. Castro, who turns 81 on Monday, has not been seen in public for more than 12 months. In late July last year, he handed power to Raul Castro, his younger brother and the nation's defense minister, in order to undergo an operation for gastric bleeding. He writes regularly in the nation's newspapers on current affairs." Source: Xinhua http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90779/6235461.html All music by Ministers Of Dub: www.ministersofdub.co.uk |

Monkey at Palin Rally Inspires Racism & Cowardice + THE AFTERMATH!
Idiot Palin McCain supporter shows cameras who the real primate is. A Republican rally in Johnstown PA attracts deplorable racist behavior that has the right-wing campaign under criticism for its careless hate speech and scare tactics. Note the creepy McCain Palin supporter as he proudly waves a racist effigy intended as a derogatory symbol of Sen. Obama's African-American heritage. Inside, however, he becomes less than willing to be photographed with the racist symbol, stashes the Obama sticker, then "gifts" the monkey to the nearest child. - OCT 08. What Insensitivity, Indifference And Cowardice Allow Others To Do - Educational Video
Director: Paul Julian/Les Goldman. Producer: Paul Julian. Public domain video. "The_Hangman" poem by Maurice Ogden, read by Herschel Bernardi. Musical score by Serge Hovey. POEM: Into our town the hangman came, smelling of gold and blood and flame. He paced our bricks with a different air, and built his frame on the courthouse square. The scaffold stood by the courthouse side, only as wide as the door was wide with a frame as tall, or a little more, than the capping sill of the courthouse door. And we wondered whenever we had the time, Who the criminal? What the crime? The hangman judged with the yellow twist of knotted hemp in his busy fist. And innocent though we were with dread, we passed those eyes of buckshot lead. Till one cried, "Hangman, who is he, for whom you raised the gallows-tree?" Then a twinkle grew in his buckshot eye and he gave a riddle instead of reply. "He who serves me best," said he "Shall earn the rope on the gallows-tree." And he stepped down and laid his hand on a man who came from another land. And we breathed again, for anothers grief at the hangmans hand, was our relief. And the gallows frame on the courthouse lawn by tomorrow's sun would be struck and gone. So we gave him way and no one spoke out of respect for his hangmans cloak. The next day's sun looked mildly down on roof and street in our quiet town; and stark and black in the morning air the gallows-tree on the courthouse square. And the hangman stood at his usual stand with the yellow hemp in his busy hand. With his buckshot eye and his jaw like a pike, and his air so knowing and business-like. And we cried, "Hangman, have you not done, yesterday with the alien one?" Then we fell silent and stood amazed. "Oh, not for him was the gallows raised." He laughed a laugh as he looked at us, "Do you think I've gone to all this fuss, To hang one man? That's the thing I do. To stretch the rope when the rope is new." Above our silence a voice cried "Shame!" and into our midst the hangman came; to that mans place, "Do you hold," said he, "With him that was meat for the gallows-tree?" He laid his hand on that one's arm and we shrank back in quick alarm. We gave him way, and no one spoke, out of fear of the hangmans cloak. That night we saw with dread surprise the hangmans scaffold had grown in size. Fed by the blood beneath the chute, the gallows-tree had taken root. Now as wide, or a little more than the steps that led to the courthouse door. As tall as the writing, or nearly as tall, half way up on the courthouse wall. The third he took, we had all heard tell, was a usurer..., an infidel. And "What" said the hangman, "Have you to do with the gallows-bound..., and he a Jew?" And we cried out, "Is this one he who has served you well and faithfully?" The hangman smiled, "It's a clever scheme to try the strength of the gallows beam." The fourth man's dark accusing song had scratched our comfort hard and long. "And what concern," he gave us back, "Have you ... for the doomed and black?" The fifth, the sixth, and we cried again, "Hangman, hangman, is this the man?" "It's a trick", said he, "that we hangman know for easing the trap when the trap springs slow." And so we ceased and asked now more as the hangman tallied his bloody score. And sun by sun, and night by night the gallows grew to monstrous height. The wings of the scaffold opened wide until they covered the square from side to side. And the monster cross beam looking down, cast its shadow across the town. Then through the town the hangman came and called through the empty streets...my name. I looked at the gallows soaring tall and thought ... there's no one left at all for hanging ... and so he called to me to help take down the gallows-tree. And I went out with right good hope to the hangman's tree and the hangman's rope. He smiled at me as I came down to the courthouse square...through the silent town. Supple and stretched in his busy hand, was the yellow twist of hempen strand. He whistled his tune as he tried the trap and it sprang down with a ready snap. Then with a smile of awful command, He laid his hand upon my hand. "You tricked me Hangman." I shouted then, "That your scaffold was built for other men, and I'm no henchman of yours." I cried. "You lied to me Hangman, foully lied." Then a twinkle grew in his buckshot eye, "Lied to you...tricked you?" He said "Not I...for I answered straight and told you true. The scaffold was raised for none but you." ." "For who has served more faithfully? With your coward's hope." said He, "And where are the others that might have stood side by your side, in the common good?" "Dead!" I answered, and amiably "Murdered," the Hangman corrected me. "First the alien ... then the Jew. I did no more than you let me do." Beneath the beam that blocked the sky none before stood so alone as I. The Hangman then strapped me...with no voice there to cry "Stay!" ... for me in the empty square. |

The Tao of Kung Fu #14 - " Cowardice is wisdom of weakness."
This clip is from the episode called 'The Stone'. The scene opens with Master Po and Grasshopper in friendly combat. However, young Caine is angry, unfocused and is easily defeated by the blind Shaolin master. Like young Caine, many of us go through life grumpy and anxious. All too often our minds are reliving failures of the past or worrying over an unknowable future. In this frame of mind we become rigid and out of harmony with our surroundings. Skilfulness can only be achieved through flexibility, spontaneity and being fully present in the "eternal now". Master Po discovers Grasshopper is concerned that he is a coward. In the context of the yin-yang, Master Po explains: "What is cowardice, but the body's wisdom of its weakness. What is bravery, but the body's wisdom of its strength. The coward and the hero march together within every man. So to call one man a coward and another brave merely serves to indicate the possibilities of achieving the opposite." This clip was taken from the 1970's TV series 'Kung Fu' (Created by Ed Spielman, Herman Miller and Jerry Thorpe). It is essentially an American Western set in the latter half of the 1800's, with an Eastern hero who has neither a gun or a horse. The story follows the adventures of Kwai Chang Caine (David Carradine); a nature loving Shaolin priest who had recently fled China. He speaks softly but is no pushover. He lives humbly yet knows great contentment. Each episode also takes the viewer back to Caine's childhood in the Shaolin temple. It is here under the instruction of the wonderfully charismatic Master Po (Keye Luke) and the stern yet loving Master Kan (Philip Ahn), young Caine (Radames Pera) learns the harmoniously balanced ways of Tao. The teachings of the Shaolin was meticulously researched for the Kung Fu series. This makes Kung Fu one of the most authentic interpretations of Philosophical Taoism available in popular culture. John McCain's New Low - Cowardice - running with his tail between his legs
John McCain is running away from the greatest economic crisis that U.S. has ever faced since the Great Depression. John "Bush" McCain instead chose to run a campaign of smears and lies against his opponent Barack Obama tying him to Bill Ayers, a guilty by association smears that had been discredited by virtually all major news media outlets in the country. And at the same time, his rich second wife is crying foul and accusing Obama campaign of running "dirtiest campaign". LMAO! |

In Praise of Cowardice
The Americanization of Emily (1964)... Most YTbers post movie clips from Paddy Chayefsky's more well known movie Network (1976) and often overlook this classic anti-war movie. The back story... English WAC officer Emily Barham (Julie Andrews) is disgusted how the U.S. officers use wartime luxuries to lure her other female colleagues for sex until she meets Charlie Maddison (James Garner) and his interesting views on life, death, peace and war. This scene is the typical "afternoon tea" with Emily's mother, who is an eccentric war widow, that turns into an interesting philosophical discussion. Enjoy. |

Dead Rising Perfect Run 4-4: Rewarding Cowardice
4-4: This is another situation where my own timeframe mucks me up. I'm expecting Sally and Nick to have appeared in Wonderland Plaza, but no such luck. Instead, I just swing through the food court to Al Fresca to pick up Gordon. Along the way, somebody's put up the purple flyers everywhere, indicating that Jennifer will now appear if I return to Paradise Plaza. I pause to try--and fail--to give Barbara a shotgun (even if she only fires a couple of times, it'll still be useful), then go speak with Gordon. You can save a lot of talking time if you just open your conversation by beating Gordon with a cardboard box, as I do here; despite the blood spray, it doesn't do any real damage. Like Barbara, don't bother giving Gordon anything worthwhile, as he won't use it. In point of fact, if Gordon is actually running instead of crawling around like a jackass, consider yourself lucky. A lead pipe is more than he deserves. This will be the last time I visit Al Fresca Plaza in this run. The further you get into the story mode, the more ludicrously crowded with zombies Al Fresca Plaza gets; on Day Three, unless you're going for Ending A, it's comparable to the worst parts of the maintenance tunnels. Fortunately, there's nothing in Al Fresca that can't be obtained more easily or conveniently somewhere else. If you're going for Saint, you have a three-survivor margin of error on an Ending B run, and a one-survivor margin of error on an Ending A run. In either event, Gordon is easily my #1 pick for the most expendable survivor, followed by Ronald; Gordon shows off far enough away from the other survivors that are in play at the time that he's a pain in the ass to get to, and if Ronald dies, it saves you an ill-timed mutiny attempt. Barbara is probably #3, as she's easily the weepiest survivor in the game (Gordon is her only real competition, although Pamela Tompkins is pretty well up there if Heather dies), as shown in this clip; she's too busy crying and moaning to run to the checkpoint. (Conversely, Floyd is probably the #1 must-get survivor, since he triggers both a bonus mission that you almost cannot fail and the appearance of Gil Jimenez. After him, there's Cheryl, Simone, and then maybe Jolie Wu.) |
