I have worked on this piece for longer than any I can remember, it is longer than any I can remember Composing, and the composition part is probably a shining example of what I am capable of. I may have spent about 10 or so hours total or more on this. Unfortunately, the computer I usually work on had its sound card break, so I went on my secondary one to make this. Well, it has a different version of Camstudio that I don't like, and when I'm recording the sound quality is less than fabulous. Furthermore, I miscalculated where I could properly re-use clips, and some of the transitions aren't very clean. This piece didn't come out like I had hoped, and I'm planning on re-doing it once the better computer is fixed. Because I don't know how long that will take, I've uploaded this in the meantime. Expect an update sometime in the next 70 or so years (my way of saying I have no idea when it can be fixed). OK, well about the piece... Yes, I can do more than video game music, and I really like this song so I looked at some sheet music and it looked possible, but the sheet music was flawed, with the bass rhythm off and percussion next to illegible. The result: I did a lot more of this song by ear than I usually do. All of the percussion is by ear, the bass rhythm is by ear, and much of the gameboy parts are by ear (and since I'm not very good at pitch-picking, they could be wrong. If you know the correct notes PLEASE TELL ME so I can fix it in my update). The cars (strings) in this tune aren't very prominent in the real song, so I decreased the volume for most car parts, but it's not as quiet as the song had because I liked how it filled in a lot of the emptiness. If the string part was next to nothing in the song, though, I left it out of here. The cars aren't always on the exactly correct beat because if they were I couldn't decrease the volume for only the cars because volume control is for the whole beat. It makes the piece a little sloppy but I dealt with it. The flowers that seem to be in random (and sometimes off-the-scale) places are the result of a glitch that lets me make them shorter by placing them on the low A (I thank LoloGuru for teaching me this trick). My only instrument choice regret is that the plane sound is quiet. It would be perfect if it were louder, because it is long enough to simulate the echo effect that the actual song has during almost all of the vocals. This track is most likely my favorite theme from any game. Its just that epic. OST Composer is Grant Kirkhope. About this: The song is filled with just about everything that isn't easily replicated in Mario Paint. On its own it lasts about 3:00 and never loops a single part. My flat tempo for the entire piece is 2352(16ths & triplets, so 12x normal). Originally on clips 14 & 15 I was going to use the 50% slowdown effect in Windows Movie Maker, but decided against for numerous reasons: 1)No other background instruments would sound right. 2)The sound quality on the dropped octave is horrible. 3)It sounded boring when I did test it. I played around with that part alone (14& 15) for almost TEN hours, until I came to what it is currently. This is BY FAR my most involved work, consuming around 40 hours spread across 3 weeks, using 26 clips/files, draining my will to live, etc. Done BY EAR in 40 hours, across 3 weeks. The song that plays during the credits is called "Mumbo's Big BBQ!". Raining Blood painstakingly remastered for the Mario Paint Composer environment. Forgive the lack of an ambient intro as held notes are impossible. Oh and the tempo is not actually 500. It's really more around 866 done post-recording since MPC only allows a max tempo of 500. EDIT JULY 23rd '08: Thank you for all the comments! In the future I will certainly modify the preferences if I ever want to change speed passed default. That is if Im ever insane enough to do something as time consuming as this was... Glad it was appreciated! Oh and the yoshis are placed in all the segments where I thought I heard the drummer hit the cymbal. It is a hell of a lot more powerful sounding than the alternatives.

Everyone knows the first Gourmet Race theme from Kirby Super Star, but the second theme remains in the shadow of its older brother, played only once in the whole game, never reused in future games, and only plays for about half of its true length. In fact, the second race is so quick that I never even knew the second half of the song until I recently went into the KSSU sound test and listened to the whole thing. It's a cool song, so I decided to make it in Mario Paint. Like my last video, I use the original soundfont and (almost) no dickspeed (there's a fast trill and triplet part near the end which I don't think my tempo of 684 could do justice, so I tripled it). I do, however, use one of the 4 new instruments for the first time (if you don't count my real soundfont video, that is). They are usually too quiet to be useful to me, but the Pirannha Plant came in handy in the bass solo. Thanks for watching, and enjoy!

Sorry for the re-submit, but I noticed that harp track was out of sync and also bad lag in the video. I followed some video parameter tips on You Tube and hopefully fixed it. Anyways, this is my 3rd Mario Paint Composition attempt. I arranged this totally by ear based on the following video of the Final Fantasy Voices Concert. I decided to try to utilize more than one Mario Paint Composer program to try to get the depth and dynamics needed to tackle a song like this. I created or modified 4 soundsets for harp in the upper left, choral in the upper right, strings in the lower left, and brass in the lower right. My video editing skills stink so please rate and comment this primarily on the basis of being a Mario Paint Composer submission. 8th upload. I love this song. This remix of glitter gulch mine is a pretty epic song in its own, so i tried to do it some justice. This song was HARD, time-consuming, and life draining. The string arpeggios are nonstop, and many chords are dissonant (not to mention quiet.) My recorder did slow it down a tad, but it's nothing unbearable. In case anyone wants to ask, i made this soundfont by combining one of the original soundfonts (or the 1.11e by SatoshiLyish) and duplicating the swan sound as the coin. I also used the drums from Cat333Pokemon's Real 2.0. Well, as promised, here you go. Leave me feedback!
