Colugo spotted at the HSBC Tree Top Walk

Learn about one of nature's most unusual creatures. Also called Colugo, a primitive gliding mammal found only in Southeast Asia and some on the Philippine Islands. Flying Lemurs resemble large flying squirrels, as they are arboreal climbers and gliders that have webbed feet with claws.

A male flying lemur scampers around a tree trunk and mounts the female. Some serious biting and screaming follows, along with a few affectionate kisses as the evening's business draws to a close. Following the mating ritual, the female lifts its kite-shaped tail and takes a fruity dump, revealing a tiny baby clinging to its belly. The flying lemur's tail is joined to its hind limbs which allows it to glide from tree to tree. This clip was shot at Bako National Park in Sarawak, Malaysia where flying lemurs are commonly seen around the chalets at the park headquarters. During the day the flying lemurs cling to the side of trees, as darkness falls they become active and launch gliding forays into the rainforest.

I had to stalk the proboscis monkeys for a day or so before I managed to get some nice shots! As well, shooting the viper and colugo were mighty exciting because they were unexpected finds! Truly I have a long ways to go in terms of wildlife filming however I do have the passion and the keen interest to learn, so trying out for this marvellous wildlife filming workshop is worth a shot! While some historians would say that Pika lost in 85 because of a pushbar failure. We remember that the Zoo beat them soundly in the preliminaries and it all came down to Zoo A vs Beta A in a drag race in the finals. The race between Dave (Doc Facely) Bectal and Golden Richards on hill one was epic. Doc's 14.2 sec hill one time has never been beaten. Eat it PiKA.
