Seattle is home to a lot of kick ass things; the space needle, grunge, frasier and of course me, joshyMcwashington. One more kick ass thing to fill out the roster nicely is the worlds biggest and best mountain bike skills park, the Colonnade, located under the runmbling I-5. In the next two vids I will show you dudes and bikes and jumps and runs from the grand opening! enjoy!!

In 1969, while on the Art faculty of Windham College in Putney, VT along with Peter Forakis and David Rohn, we, and our students staged an Art Carnival based on those of of Ergo Suits of 1962 and Fluxus of 1963. The Edward Durrel Stone "Colonnade" designed to shelter the students between classes during the winter months succeeded in doing exactly the opposite, as it channeled melting snow and rain on them instead. It was much hated by all, so I focused on its symbolic destruction by my Sculpture Dance characters. I built a light weight replica of the Colonnade and directed the student "dancers" as they attacked it for the film. Chuck Ginnever

The Park Colonnade in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad, Karlsbad, Карловы Вары) (Garden Collonade - 1881, Fellner and Helmer) The Park Colonnade was built from cast-iron prefabricated elements in 1881 (by Architects Fellner and Helmer) This building complex, formed by open arcades decorated by a lot of ornaments and figural designs is situated in the Dvořák Park. Directly under the roof of the Colonnade or nearby you will find three healing springs. An interesting view of the skills section of Seattle's first MTB park

The Castle Colonnade in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad, Karlsbad, Карловы Вары) (1911-1913, Friedrich Ohmann) The Colonnade of the "Upper Spring" and the Colonnade of the "Lower Spring" forms the "Castle Colonnade". You find it upstairs beside the "Market Colonnade". In the interiors of the lower spring there is the relief of the "Spring Ghost". The Castle Colonnade was closed for many years and was opened only in the Year 2001, after rebuilding. Here you find the springs "Horní pramen" (Upper Castle Spring, 50°C) and "Dolní pramen" (Lower Castle Spring 55°C). The Hot Spring Colonnade in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad, Karlsbad, Карловы Вары) (1969 - 1975, prof. Votruba) The oldest spring of Carlsbad (Karlovy Vary) is situated in the "Hot Springs Colonnade". In a building from the 60s you find a Geysir with hot mineral water and some other healing springs. In the centre of the foyer stands a mighty statue of "Hygiea", the Greek goddess of the health. In the small shops inside the Colonnade you can buy souvenirs, drinking cups, bath salts, Carlsbad-Oblaten, fossilized roses, tourist brochures, videos, city guides and much more. ============================ Further Informations at http://TVKarlovyVary.com ============================
