Join the Missionaries of Jesus!
Joining the Missionaries of Jesus is one way responding to Jesus' call to serve God's people. The Missionaries of Jesus Who are the Missionaries of Jesus? The Missionaries of Jesus (MJ) is an international and multicultural religious missionary community within the Roman Catholic Church. It was founded in the Philippines on 12 June 2002 by a group of forty-one men called and inspired by the mission and humanity of Jesus, who calls us to "make disciples of all nations" (Mt 28:18). What is our mission? We are sent to frontier situations to witness and proclaim to the nations the presence and the coming of God's Reign. We work for and are in solidarity with the marginalized sectors of society, e.g., the indigenous communities, the urban poor, migrant workers, refugees, and displaced populations. We are partners in their aspiration for a new humanity rooted in Jesus Christ. Our objective is the promotion of the universality of the Christian message through presence (witness and dialogue of life), proclamation, and prayer. Where do we this mission? We are working in the Philippines in the Diocese of Antipolo, the Apostolic Vicariate of Baguio, the Archdiocese of Davao, the Prelature of Marawi, the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, and in various places in Metro-Manila. We are also present in the Diocese of Lae in Papua New Guinea, in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Washington DC in the USA and in the Prelature of Peten in Guatemala. What do we need to do this mission? The Missionaries of Jesus has set up the Mission Promotions Office here in the USA. The objective of the office is to fill up or finance the three buckets of the Missionaries of Jesus: (for the Initial Formation or the seminarians who will become religious missionary priests; for the varied pastoral needs of missions -- evangelization, education, health, socio-economic development, and other pastoral needs; and for the Missionaries -- for their on-going formation; health fund; care for the aging and sick missionary priests).

This article appeared on the SF Chronicle and SFGate.com as well: Joseph Edward Letsinger Passed away suddenly Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 after an unfortunate car accident. Joe had just turned 43, Mar. 4. He was born and raised in San Jose, attended St. John Vianney, Bellarmine College Prep and then earned a business degree from St. Mary's College of Moraga. Joe worked for Sears in San Mateo for over 10 years and had been living in SF. Joe was loved deeply by his family and friends and he will be missed dearly. He cherished his only son, Ryan, and dedicated himself to him. Most recall never laughing as hard as the times they shared with Joe and can't believe he is gone. We wish Joe an eternity of peace, love and laughter. He was the loving father to Ryan Letsinger of San Francisco; beloved son of Doris and Paul (deceased) Letsinger of San Jose. He was a loving grandson of Lena McKenzie of San Jose, and beloved brother and brother-in-law to Paul (Pandy) Letsinger of San Jose, Bill (Diana) Letsinger of Long Beach and Gregg (Julie) Letsinger of Menlo Park. He was sweet and loving "Uncle Joe" to his niece Allison and nephews Aaron, Davis, Sammy and William. Rosary and Memorial Mass celebrating Joe's life will be held at St. John Vianney Church of San Jose on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 6pm preceded by a viewing at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose from 9am-5pm. On April 2nd, Joe will be buried next to his beloved Dad at Oak Hill Cemetery with a service beginning at 11am. Family and friends are invited to attend all services. The family will be establishing a trust fund for Joe's son, Ryan, for anyone wishing to make a donation on Joe's behalf. This article appeared on page Z - 99 of the San Francisco Chronicle
