A short film about the good ol' days of Griffith, Indiana. Featured is the EL, PC, C&O, GTW, and the EJ&E. Pictures from ca. 1965 to 1981. Most of these pictures were taken in the vicinity of South Broad Street in Griffith, once the busiest interlocking in the US. Sadly, almost all of what is seen here is gone. The GT tracks are now CN and are still here. EJ&E is now also CN and there tracks are here as well, but the rest didn't fare too well and most of the EL, C&O, and PC property has either been converted to walking paths or nature has reclaimed it. Shown at the end of this clip is some take up pics of the C&O main line facing west and the EL facing east.

First tourist train on the former C&O in northern Indiana
This is our first tourist train on the former C&O. Our locomotive was not yet blue carded, so we had the CKIN crew pull our train for the day. The locomotive belongs to IBCX and is leased to the CKIN. CKIN crews ran the train for the day. Filmed September 9th, 2005. The locomotive is a former Southern Pacific GP20.

This is a video preview of our two-program set covering the entire line from Indianapolis to Newton, IL, and Terre Haute to Louisville. In the main programs, we see coal trains with the sd9043mac's, manifests, and lots of semaphores on the old Monon where the INRD has trackage rights. A great program for the contemporary diesel fan.
