The Lone Bethel Methodist Church Inside Eastfork Lake Park, Clermont Co, Ohio
What a serene sight: this old country church sitting amidst a banket of newly fallen, untouched snow. Beside it, and behind it, a collection of gravestones dating back almost 200 years. I've seen tthis church many times, but not once have I seen people inside it, or outside, nor have I myself seen the inside. An old outhouse sits back behnd the church, off to one side.

Headed home leaving Texas, I end up in Kentucky close enough to Louisville's WHAS 840. The main story turns out to be the relentless sleeting and roadside tree damage caused by the all too familiar and newsworthy ice storm that swept my entire route from Fort Worth Texas to Akron Ohio. Sleet flirted with snow past Columbus OH.

By 2 AM EDT, all of the supercells had merged into a single line of thunderstorms. A tornado did hit southern Clermont County, Ohio about 10 minutes before the time of this video. Once again, the radar clock is in local time, not Universal Time.
Eight Mile Road & Clough Pike In Anderson Twp after Ice & Snowstorm 1/28/09
Much prettier in person! Recorded at about 5:30pm, after the storm had pretty much blown over. All that was left by this point were ice-encapsulated trees, huge piles of snow and broken tree limbs. The video is somewhat herky-jerky, as the road was covered with compressed snow & ice, making the rie somewhat bumpier than usual. Plus, I was riding in a Land Rover, which aren't known for their gentle rides!
Eastfork Lake Park, Clermont Co, Ohio 1/29/09
Driving through the park after the areas' first major snowfall of 2009. The road had been plowed, but was stil very bumpy & rough due to compacted snow on the roadway. We drove as far as we could until we reached a point where downed trees had fallen across the roadway. Ahead of us at that point were two vehices which we assumed were workers working to cut the tree up for removal.
