As KeySpan continues its transition to National Grid, workers will start updating the name on the exterior of the tank. Although the name on the tank will change, Corita Kent's artwork, originally commissioned in 1971 by Boston Gas Company, will remain the same. "We are announcing the surface detail work on our gas tank in advance so we can prepare morning commuters for this visible transition," said Nick Stavropoulos, Executive Vice President of US Gas Distribution for National Grid. "Weather permitting, the work should be completed within ten days." "Corita Kent's artwork is a cherished icon and a Boston landmark visible to everyone traveling on the Southeast Expressway.
