Witnesses told police that Coleman had walked in on the party at a residence in the 800 block of 164th Place Northeast shortly after 9 p.m. carrying a knife In his pocket and walking Red His pit bull. He was ejected from the party and was in the back yard with several of the partygoers socializing when two officers confronted him. Officers Brandt Mendenhall, 35, and Shelby Shearer, 36, Coleman brandished an unloaded .38-caliber pistol at the two officers, The officers then shot him multiple times, first In the head, then the in the vitals, then in the legs.
