 | Honeymen - A Girl Called Love The first single from the Honeymen. Based in Brisbane, the project was the brainchild of Sean Sennett. 'A Girl Called Love' was described by Rolling Stone in 1990 as an 'instant classic'. Deniz Tek said 'I prefer the b-side'. The song, and the b-side 'The Escalator Blues', were recorded at Broken Toys Studios by Leroy Bath. The tune received a substantial amount of play on Triple J. The recording band featured Sean (vocals/guitar), Greg Young (lead guitar) and The Humans' rhthym section; Peter Acton (drums) and Mak Purchase (bass). The film clip featured Sean with ring-ins Andrew Prentice (bass) and Darren Clark (drums). The girl is the actress Helen Thomson. The clip was directed by Laura Elkington and filmed by Nyree Smith. The single, remastered by Don Bartley, will be avaliable through iTunes in September 2008. |
