experiencing culture on your stomach (food travel!)

as a lover of food, one of my biggest reasons to travel is to eat. i won't even deny it.

- clam chowder in a sourdough bowl in san fran
- bbq pork buns in hong kong
- croissants & pastries in paris
considering a trip to south east asia this winter break - so questions i've had:
- do people really eat pho in vietnam?
- do people really drink viet style hickory coffee with condensed milk?
- are the mango shakes as good as they are at the "train" pho here in toronto?
- what about the pad thai in thailand?
- tom yum goong soup?

- malaysian curry canai and roti?
- do they really do deep fried banana fritters, or is that an invention of the modern fusion restaurants?
hmm, the mystery continues
