Plot

Juan Dominguez, while walking the streets of Mexico City, comes across an attactive older woman, Nidia Cachon (Sylvia Pasquel). After flirting with her, they proceed to go back to her house, where she attempts to seduce him. He starts to lose interest when her two daughters, Yadira (Dacia Arcaraz) and Marely (Florencia de Saracho) comes into the house. He instantly falls in love with Marely, quickly losing complete interest in Nidia. Not long after, Nidia's husband comes home.
Nidia approachs her husband and gives him a hug and a kiss, making an excuse as to why Juan is at the house. Her husband quickly dismisses her and calls Juan into his office. All the while a voice over of Juan's thoughts is playing, a running schtick throughout the show.
In his office, the husband quickly explains how his life is not longer worth living. He produces a gun and leaves his family in the care of Juan. He then shoots himself in the head.
Second Family

It is quickly learned, as the viewing and funeral are being arranged, that the husband had an affair years ago with a woman named Ana Davila (María Marcela), which produced another daughter, named Paula (Mayrín Villanueva). After hearing several discussions between mother and daughter on whether or not to go to the viewing of the late husband, it is learned that the affair between the late husband and Ana went on for a long time, only ending when the late husband learned that his wife, Nidia, was pregnant with their second child.
The Viewing

After much deliberation and arguing, Ana and Paula decide to go to the viewing. Well before they arrive, the characters of the Cachon Family begin to show their true colors, and two more characters are introduced. Nidia acts the part of the bereaved wife, while constantly hitting on Juan. The family Lawyer, Alfirio Perefan (Roberto D’amico) also tries to comfort Nidia, while subtly hinting that he is in love with her. Yadira is grieving with her boyfriend Enrique Bueno (Eugenio Bartilotti), who is only their because Yadira wants him to be. He often sleeps when bored and not actively engaged in conversation. Marely grieves by herself, getting angry with her mother and sister periodically because they are not acting appropriate.
Nidia gets progressively more drunk as the day goes on. She eventually claims that her late husband wanted a Mariachi band playing at his funeral and Juan goes out to find on. When he returns they begin to play inside while he and Enrique dance. Marely gets mad at her mother for having the Mariachi band play, saying that this was the worst time for it. Juan takes the band outside. Not long after that the owner of the Funeral Home tells Juan to get rid of the band.
Around this time Ana and Paula show up at the viewing. A few minutes after arriving Nidia notices them and starts to yell at them, telling them they have not right to be there. Ana yells back that they have every right, as Paula is the late man's daughter as well. Nidia makes a few nasty remarks about Ana and they begin to fight. While grabbing and hitting across the top of the coffin, they accidentally knock the coffin to the ground. Marely screams at them to stop. She remarks about how horrible and cruel her mother was being, on that day of all days, and leaves. About this same time, Juan is coming back in from dismissing the Mariachi band and sees Marely leaving. He tries to talk to her but she brushes him off.
The Will

The family has no more money. The late husband donated it all to charity. He left the house to Paula and Ana. Nidia used her relationship with the laywer to get him to make a fake copy saying the late husband left Paula and Ana nothing.
Empresas Farell

Paula had being attending University in the United States. She returned to Mexico to be with her mother, against her mother's wishes. She tells her mother that she wants to look for a job and live in Mexico either with or near her mother. She finds a job with a company called Empresas Farel, a food distributor. She would become Vice President and help find Vendors for the company.
At the same time, Juan, who has been living in the Cachon household decided to get a job, since the family no longer had any money. When he coincidentally finds a job as a chauffeur for Empresas Farell, he enlistes the help of Enrique to learn how to drive. Enrique is a bus driver and allows Juan to use his bus, after much persuasion. Juan gets in an accident and then gets into a fight with the other driver.
Juan gets the job as chauffeur with Empresas Farel, but tells the Cachon family that he is actually a laywer with the company to empress Marely. He becomes the chauffeur for Paula. He instantly falls in love with her as well.
When Paula was hired at Empresas Farell, the President of the company, Cesar Luis Farell took an instant liking to her. He flirts with her and leads her to believe that he might want to have a relationship with her. Paula learns almost immediately, from Cesar Luis's secretary Ivonne, that he is married and that Paula shouldn't get her hopes up. It is learned not long after that that Ivonne and Cesar Luis are having an affair. Ivonne expresses her almost instant contempt for Paula and Cesar Luis tells her there is nothing to worry about.
In the meantime, Juan makes friends with one of the other company chauffeurs, Fernando. Juan is looking for an excuse to take out Marely. He convinces Fernando to come with him, taking out Yadira to make the whole thing seem more innocent. Fernando tells Yadira that he is also an executive laywer for Empresas Farell. Because of this Yadira breaks off her relationship with Enrique for the person who supposedly has more money. The whole Cachon family, at this point, thinks both Juan and Fernando are very important people in this company.
Paula, being the Vice President of the company, must work closely with Cesar Luis. He confides in her that his relationship with his wife is suffering. He tells her that he is going to file for divorce. At the same time Cesar Luis begins pursuing Paula, he stops his affair with Ivonne.
