WOODEN OX

The 'wooden ox'(木牛流马,''literally'' wooden ox flowing horse)was created by Zhuge Liang while he served Shu-Han. It was a mechanical, walking replica of an oxen whose main purpose was to carry supplies such as grain to an army that was running low on supplies.
No one has been able to recreate it accurately because it is unknown precisely what mechanism was used by Zhuge Liang in order to allow it to walk. What is known about it however, is that it could be found at the neck of the wooden ox. Sima Yi from Wei recreated many of these wooden oxen to carry grain, but was tricked by Zhuge Liang because the oxen could be rendered immobile by twisting their tongues. This invention was specifically mentioned in the Romance of Three Kingdoms, Records of Three Kingdoms, Book of Qi, and some other works from the Song Dynasty.
