NEW YORK TIMES June 8, 2006 Amantha Starr Walden and Nicholas Rabb Weidenfeld were married on Saturday in Macon, Ga. The Rev. Cameron Pennybacker, a Disciples of Christ minister, officiated at the Douglass Theater. The bride and bridegroom work for the Cartoon Network in Atlanta. The bride manages marketing and production of the record label for music from "Adult Swim," late-night animated shows. The bridegroom is the head of program development for "Adult Swim." Ms. Walden, 35, is keeping her name. She graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the daughter of Peggy H. Walden of Atlanta and the late Phil Walden. Her father was a founder and owner of Capricorn Records, a Southern rock label in the 1970s, and helped develop the careers of Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers, among other musicians. He first saw Mr. Redding at the Douglass in the late 1950s, when both men were teenagers, which is why the bride and bridegroom chose the theater for their wedding. Mr. Weidenfeld, 28, graduated magna cum laude from Columbia. He is a son of Sheila Rabb Weidenfeld and Edward L. Weidenfeld of Washington. His mother is the chairwoman of the federal advisory commission of Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park. From 1974 to 1977 she was the press secretary for Betty Ford, and she is the author of "First Lady's Lady: With the Fords at the White House" (Putnam, 1979). The bridegroom's father is a lawyer in Washington and a chairman of the board of visitors, an advisory body of the National Defense University. The bridegroom is a grandson of the late Maxwell M. Rabb, the United States ambassador to Italy from 1981 to 1989. |

![]() | Howard Carpendale Teil 1 Am 15. April 2008 fiel in der Kemptener BIG BOX der Startschuss für 10 Konzert mit Howard Carpendale. Vor 5 Jahren hatte er seinen Abschied von der Bühne angekündigt. Aber ihm fehlte sein Publikum und die ganze Atmosphäre, was eine Tournee und ein Konzert eben ausmacht. In Kempten trat er pünktlich um 20:10 Uhr (wie der Titel seines Albums heißt) vor ausverkauftem Haus auf die Bühne und die Fans (zum größten Teil weiblich) waren nicht mehr zu bremsen. Die Band spielte schon die ersten Takte seines Liedes, aber Howie, wie er liebevoll genannt wird, suchte vergeblich nach seinem Mikrofon. Das Mikrofon befand sich noch hinter dem Vorhang bei seinem berühmten Barhocker. Aber so ist es eben bei Premieren. Kleine Fehler passieren viele. Diese werden diskutiert und ausgebessert. Die Fans können sich jedenfalls auf 2 tolle Stunden mit Howie freuen. Dabei singt er seine neusten Lieder und ohne seine größten Hits wird er nicht von der Bühne gelassen. - Eine Besonderheit gibt es noch: zum ersten Mal singt er das Lied „Das schöne Mädchen von Seite 1".
