'Walton Street' is a street in central Oxford, England, located in the heart of the area known as Jericho.
The street runs north from the western end of Beaumont Street where the main entrance of Worcester College is located. To the west of Walton Street is the area known as Jericho. The Oxford University Press, St Sepulchre's Cemetery and Ruskin College are located off the street to the west.
Little Clarendon Street, a shopping street, adjoins Walton Street to the east. There are many restaurants on Walton Street, often used by Oxford University students because of its central position, such as Branca, Loch Fyne, The Jericho Cafe, Jamals, Peppers Burgers, Posh Fish, and Brasserie Blanc. Oxford's main independent 'art house' cinema 'The Phoenix' is on the west side of the street. A number of trendy cocktail bars and pubs can be found on Walton Street.
A popular past-time of Oxford students is to take a drink in each of the hallowed drinking establishments from South to North: Sugar Brown, Raul's, Jude the Obscure, The Jericho Tavern, the Picture house bar, Jamals (bring your own drink), Sip, and the Victoria Pub. This is commonly referred to as 'Route 68'. Other notable shops include: the specialty flower shop Daisies, the extremely trendy bar Raul's, and the gourmet deli Gluttons renowned for its fine salamis and cheeses.
A number of notable Oxford University academics reside on 'Walton Street', including the chemist Thomas C.S. Martin and the mathematician Natasha Kaleta Li.
To the north, the street continues as Kingston Road through Walton Manor.
'Walton Street' is sometimes referred to as 'The Best Street To Live On In Oxford'.
