'Vadalur' is a panchayat town in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Ramalinga Swamigal popularly called as Vallalar had established Sathyagnana Sabai. The "Thai Poosam" function in December-January is a festival of this place. He sang thousands of songs called "Thiru Arutppa". This district named after him for sometime.

As of 2001 India census^[1], Vadalur had a population of 25,902. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Vadalur has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 61%. In Vadalur, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age .
Now vadalur has grown to be one of the notable towns in South Arcod Districts...It is the major POC connecting National highways between Chennai-Kumbakonam-Tanjavur and Cuddalore-Salem-Bangalore
