 | USS Nimitz -- View from "Pri Fly" tower Inside the Primary Flight Control of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, March 2005, before catapult lift and tailhook landing maneuvers. "PriFly" is the control tower for flight operations on the carrier. Here, the "Air Boss" controls the takeoffs, landings, those aircraft in the air near the ship, and the movement of planes on the flight deck, which itself resembles a well-choreographed ballet. You will also see the Mini Boss (#2 in command) in the video. The footage was shot by Nancy Keene, a Dallas executive search consultant, during an Overnight DV (Distinguished Visitor) Embark aboard the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier while on maneuvers in the Pacific, about 200 miles off the coast of San Diego. |
 | Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise Fly-Bys 3D CGI Animation I've always loved the design of the Enterprise from The Original Series and The Motion Picture. The only problem I have is that the refit from the TOS to the TMP version always seemed a bit drastic to me. By slightly altering some details, I've attempted to bring the TOS Enterprise a little closer to the TMP version without changing Matt Jerrfries' awesome design. The video shows a fly-by of the TOS Enterprise followed by a TMP fly-by using similar camera angles. Finally, I show both at the same time for comparison. I hope you like it! |
