TUVAN AUTONOMOUS OBLAST

The 'Tuvan Autonomous Oblast' was created on 1944-10-11 following the annexation of the Tuvinian People's Republic. On 10 October, 1961 it was transformed into the Tuva Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
