'''The Madwoman of Chaillot''', along with the musical ''Dear World'', is one of two English translations and adaptions of Jean Giraudoux's 20th century play ''La Folle de Chaillot''. It was itself adapted into the 1969 film ''The Madwoman of Chaillot''.
Notable stage productions include the 1948-50 at the Belasco and Bernard B. Jacobs theatres on Broadway featuring Martita Hunt (playing the role for over 350 performances and winning a Tony Award for her performance) and that at 1969 at the Oxford Playhouse featuring Hugh Paddick.
