SYRIAN ARABIC


'Syrian Arabic' () is a Levantine variety of Arabic spoken in Syria. Syria has three major dialectal zones: Central Syrian is spoken from Damascus to Hama, while North Syrian Arabic is spoken in the Aleppo region. Eastern Syrian, which is spoken mainly in Dair Azzor and Hasaka is very similar to the Iraqi Arabic.
