'Sterzing (Vipiteno)' (Italian: ''Vipiteno'', archaic ''Sterzen''; German: ''Sterzing'', Archaic (1180 AD) ''Sterzengum''; Archaic (827 AD): ''Uuipitina''; Latin: ''Vipitenum'') is an Italian comune in the province of Bolzano in the region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. It is the main village of the southern Wipptal (Valle Isarco), and the Isarco river flows through the medieval town.
According to the 2001 census, 75% of the population was German speaking, 24.7% Italian speaking and 0.3% of Ladin speaking.

The Torre delle Dodici (''Zwölferturm''), a 46 m-high tower erected in 1470. Outside the city is the ''Reifenstein Castle (Castel Tasso or Burg Reifenstein)'', one of the best preserved medieval castle in the province.
