ST. JOSEPH SECONDARY SCHOOL (MISSISSAUGA)


'St. Joseph Secondary School' is located in Mississauga, Ontario. The school is administered by the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. The school has 1984 students aged 13 to 19. As of 2005, the school is run by superintendent Liz Kazimowicz and principal Kevin McGuire.
Like other members of the district, students who attend St. Joseph's receive teaching on religion, family life and prayer in addition to the standard curriculum found in public schools. The school is linked with the St. Joseph's Parish in Mississauga, which is a part of the Archdiocese of Toronto.
Some successful extra-curricular programs include: Culture Shock, Talent Show, Artsapalooza and Battle of the Bands. Also, the school Ambassadors are a successful widespread organization, assisting with liturgies, tours, etc... St. Joes also hosts a Video Game club, Snowboarding club, Reach for the Top team, Latin Salsa Dancing club (Junior and Senior level), Team 25 (an amalgamation of all the clubs the school offers), DECA, Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA), the Mirror (school newspaper), Anime Club and MANY more extra-curriculars one can be involved.
The school teams for the 2005-2006 School year are: volleyball Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Bantam Boys cricket Senior Boys tennis Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Senior Co-ed, Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Junior Co-ed Basketball Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Football Senior boys, Junior Boys, Varsity Girls flag football Hockey Senior Boys, Junior Boys Swimming Varsity Co-ed Golf Boys Curling Girls Varsity Girls Lacrosse. The Varisty Girls lacrosse team, started their first season in 2006. Despite losses, they plan to make a breakout year in the upcoming ROPSSAA championships.
School Championships 2005-2006 Bantam Boys Volleyball, Junior Boys Basketball, Junior Girls Basketball, Junior Girls Soccer.
Congratulations to the Girls Curling team, who won the ROPSSAA championships in March 2007.
